I've Got To Make A Change

From Harps to Halos

Song Reviews

Nice blues sound...

When the song first starts, you're drawn in because of the very driving blues sound. Great chord structure that really makes you move your head back and forth. Good lyrics too and a very nice bridge that almost reminds you of a nod to the 70s pop sound and then back to the driving blues sound. Vocals could be stronger, but overall nice attempt.

***Diggin' This GRUUV--IT Is Indeed A Time For Change--INSPIRATIONAL***

The message is timely, well conceived and superbly executed. The message speaks, in a timely fashion, through personal observation and perspective and the actions taken as a result of these revelations. Imho , this approach is the very definition of being a witness. The message is well conceived, as evidenced by the lyric choices and how those choice support the theme of asking for help and being willing to accept whatever guidance the Lord is willing to extend -- to anyone who asks. The message is superbly executed in the musicianship, production choices and the quality of the recording. Individual performances are skillful but never overshadow the ensemble. Intonation, rhythm and improvisation are all impressively presented, but never at the expense of the gruuv. ~LarninCurve

well......First let me say, I love the story in the lyrics. Lyrics in the song fantastic. Vocals very well done, in perfect keeping with the blues style. The band. Great. Tight and together. Loved the harp solo. To be honest, one of my first thought was, I'd love to cover this song in my gigs. It's the kind of song with a message that you could still play in a bar. Harps to Halos...you have a new fan. Well done!

rEVIEW OF "i'VE gOT TO mAKE a CHANGE

Absolutely awesome instrumental! The message of your song is open & honest, which is much appreciated. I feel your sincerity in turning to Jesus. Lyrically I would like to hear more of your testimony of the positive changes God has made in you, for the evidence is strong He has, Praise God. Musically I think 3 part background vocals would sound super terrific, especially with your amazing solo vocal. In short, this song will definately reach souls for God, no doubt!

Blue Heaven

Tight groove (Is it all live instruments?) either way great production values, poppin snare, harp sounds awesome (what mic?, small tube amp?)piano kicks, Vocal is very good if a bit pitchy, honest feel and the message is clear. Christian blues has to be a pretty small genre but you can take advantage of that. You could cut some of the jam at the end since you have already delivered the news. The spoken bit after the 1st verse is a bit distracting but overall really well done.

Blues man!!

I like the Blues feel and what the song is about... Crying out to God like David (in the Psalms)... This would be "From Harps to Halos" version which i can appreciate... I also can appreciate the raspy vocals of the lead singer. The music can be cleaned up a little in terms of the drummer's timing with the other musicians and there were a couple missteps in that regard but overall a good attempt. Continue to hone your craft. blessings

Gave his Blues to the Lord…...

I hear pitch issues throughout the song. Vocal is weak with no feeling to it. Some stutters where it sounds like you punched in to fix a mistake & didn't do a clean punch are distracting. Song is too long, I would dump the piano solos & focus on the harp. Song title doesn't really fit the song. Maybe "I Give my Blues too You" would be a better fit. It didn't grab my attention & I would have went to the next song very quickly. I did find the chord change on the I interesting. Definitely was unusual from the standard fast IV that is in most every Blues song. Keep working at it. Your just not finding "you" when you write your music. One you find who you are the rest will follow. Kind Regards, -EC
