About George Samaras
Christmas, 1974 I went to a Music store for new Strings and met a Clerk who invited me to a local Musical Organizing meeting for a Local Production they were working on. Not realizing what I volunteered for I agreed to attend. 5 DAYS LATER,
my life changed. I was Dharma-sized, We played a few songs enjoyable songs at the meeting and at the end of the session I was honored when asked and invited to Open the Show with a Song I had composed, "Gather In The Light". That is what was happening and Still Is. We rehearsed the original show for the next Month and performed something that was to set us up for a Demand Repeat Performance.
* Feb 26,& 27, 1975 first public Multi Media Performance of SUNSHINE BANKS OF THE ARKANSAS, a Theme that was about the Colorado Settlement of the Arkansas River Valley, became very popular and something the 32 people involved in the production were not used to. They took their Culture and Comradery as something that was just supposed to be.
Being from the Big City, I saw potential in what the Theme Song had to say and urged my new friends to Go For IT!.
* Jan.1977, I presented the Proposition to obtain a Letter of Support from the Pueblo City Council and performed "Sunshine Banks of the Arkansas" a song written by Doyle Trantham and Bryan Richie, local residents and both of Pueblo. After sharing the success of the song locally, I requested securing a Letter of Support from the Council to move forward with plans to popularize the song beginning in Pueblo.
* Feb.1, 1977 - I received a glowing Letter of Support from then President of the Pueblo, CO City Council, Mr. Henry Reyes H. It was Official. Sunshine Banks of the Arkansas was a Theme Song for the Pueblo Regional Area. Henry Reyes was a Radio Station Host for a local Mexican Radio Station. He saw the potential as I did.
