The music had great sounds and tones that really grabbed my attention. Songwriting and vocals were on point and brought as much to the song as the music did. Nice intro on the piano. Sound of the piano is somewhat muffled; could be better I think, more crispy, bit more treble. Nice voice of the singer. Melody is very nice. In the second part the voice is a bit soft in the beginning. I like the piano intermezzo; beautiful chord progressions. I was waiting for the last high note by the singer.... but it didn't happen :-) Beautiful piece of classical music, all in all.

I like the production sound. I've never been into opera but I've always been fascinated with the octave ranges! I can feel the heart in this showing you put in some dedicated work. I like the originality with your delivery of vocals.. Strong and beautiful voice! Sounds like the studio vibe was chill I could sit back to this one and zone out!!!!! Lovely deep jazz chords duel with a soprano voice. I didn't understand the words which are in I believe Italian however I got the message of the song as the chords became fuller and deeper. The song did touch my heart however!!

With some jazz overtures and a nod to sprechstimme, this piece elegantly explores the playful dissonances that mark the advent of 20th Century musical traditions in the wake of the first World War. The juxtaposition of a brooding piano inverts the soprano's otherwise angelic sound to produce tones of fear, anxiety, loss and perhaps, despair, somewhat reminiscent of Wozzeck. The pianist's choice of final chords mark a powerful ending and leave the listener with a resounding sense of what might have been.

This is such a beautiful and well produced song written in a contemporary but very tonal style incorporating elements of Jazz and the Western classical and romantic traditions! The soprano, Ginaluca Barragato has a lovely voice very well modulated to the singing of this sad poem form the late 17th/early 18 century (seen lyrics under lyrics)! Congratulations to the composer for a masterful setting which incorporates word painting as a text setting tool, and excellent expressive singing and playing-you guys are a great combination! Looking forward to discovering more of your work! :-)

A Dirge - Soprano voice and Piano review. this song is a strictly Classical piece in the highest sense of the word. everything sounds in Classical style as I said everything recalls the Classical genre. personally it is not my favorite genre but I can give you a musical judgment that is certainly positive because all that there must be in a Classical piece in your piece is therefore complimented and continues. good job

This is a very interesting song even though it's a somber sounding lament (kinda sad, kinda eerie) but all well played sung and performed. The piano is played with solid timing and skill playing melodic slow moving parts while supporting the vocalist as she tries to hit the next octave. Very good over all truthfully I was taken back at first didn't know what to expect .. A Dirge? Well people this is a dirge welcome to my dirge... Enjoy different styles than your own.and listen you will appreciate the gloominess sorrow displayed in the chords of the piano and voice.
