Hello guys,
in a few months, Walls of Silence turns 25 and yeah, we're old... but still untamed!
Back in the day, I can remember that the band was at its best, we had just overpassed the line-up problems and we were going to record the Psychotime follow-up. Psychotime in 1991 sold more than 2000 copies and that was a blast at that time.
Well, for the new record we wanted to do best, in the music as well as in the production and management. We entered the Ramdom Music House Studio in Ostia (Rome) in may 1993 for a pre-production and the sessions lasted all the summer. Ingo Schwarz (former member of Thunder and Schwarz) played all the bass parts, and it was funny to see the music growing day by day from raw to a more refined form. We had time for experiments, over compositions and sounds, and we had fun to set female choruses on a couple of tracks.
Thought WoS was still a hard rock/heavy metal record, it sounds less power than Psychotime, adding some progressive elements in the songs and the new chemistry among us led to a more mature level of composing and performing of our music. That atmosphere was unique and, in my opinion, still today so evident when listening to the record. Just to mention, it tooks me only two days to record all the voices and we can take it as a real success, considering my notorious lenght in studio!! :-). The following supporting live tour in Italy was also amazing and funny and we could meet a lot of people that loved our music and supported us the best they could. Thank you again, guys (you know who you are)!!
By the way, I have to admit I'm longing for the good old times every now and then. Time for a reunion? I don't know, but I'd like to record some brand new songs with that band.
Song list: Park Chaos, I will survive, Social Domain, Walls of Silence, Difference, Keep on shining.
Band: Aldo Caprini-Voices, Marco Spinazza-Guitars, Giovanni Di Claudio-Guitars, Luca Celletti-Drums, Ingo Schwarz-Bass
Please keep supporting us and send us your feedback: this is the most important thing for us! Finally, a "new" song for you to listen to: you can find "Keep on Shining" on youtube at (expired link)
Enjoy!
Yours, sincerely
Aldo
