About Great Caesar's Goat
Original Americana with exceptional songwriting, a superior rhythm section, and amazing licks on a beat up telecaster is what you will hear from Great Caesar's Goat. The band has years of experience behind the them, its members sharing stages with the like of Gary Clark Jr, Little Big Town, Rascal Flatts, and Little Feat just to name a few. They bring a polished, edgy and professional show to every stage big or small.
The "Goat's" have deep roots in the Texas hill country. Founded by two songwriters, Chris Patterson and Spencer Braly, the pair both spent their time in the the bars and music clubs of Austin working on their craft. The pair become fast friends when they ran into each other in a bar in Ames, IA. Chris serving drinks, and Spencer ordering.
Within weeks the two began writing and Great Caesar's Goat was born. They sought out the best rhythm section they could find and Drummer Todd Cumming and Bassist Greg Bruno were recruited to join the duo.
The band and/or it's members have played in venues and festivals across the country including... Bluebird Cafe - Nashville, TN; Continental Club - Austin, TX; IOTA - Arlington, VA; Rock and Roll Hotel - Washington, DC; Davey's Uptown Rambler - Kansas City, MO; Nissan Pavillion - Bristow, VA; SXSW - Austin, TX; DC 101 Music Festival - Washington, DC; Americana Music Festival - Dewey Beach, DE.
GREAT CAESAR'S GOAT comes to play… Their setlist varies with each show but would include mostly originals which the band can choose from over 75 Patterson/Braly penned tunes along with a handful of covers that the band has reinvented to become “Goatified”. The band is engaging and entertaining and highly energetic. With the amount of songs in the groups repertoire they can easily adjust their setlist during a show to fit the audience that is watching it.
