the story starts in the year 2001 on a meadow close to groombridge, a small and cosy village in east-Sussex, england. during their england trip two friends end up „in the middle of nowhere“ but do not suspect yet that this experience would lead to the formation of a band a few years later... groombridge stands for friendship, solidarity and passionate music which releases the free expression of feelings to appeal the individual. their sound is mostly inspired by british indie-rock bands but groombridge however impart an own and formative touch to everyone of their songs. more accurate than any description though is to experience groombridge oneself. the new record „phrases from the second floor“ was recorded in autumn/winter 2006/07 and takes groombridge to a new level. the 13 new songs cover a broad range both in music as well as lyrically. one literally feels the commitment the band came up with for this recording.
