Hey there GT fans and friends!
Hey there GT fans and friends!
It has been a while since my last mailing (I apologize).
This week I am taking a break from the studio and working on some bathroom remodeling. While I wait for the spackling to dry I thought I'd take a minute and update you on what's been happening here at Stupid Studios.
As some of you already know, I have been diligently working on the art of Composing, Mixing and Mastering. I am always looking to do something different and at times, challenge myself with various endeavors.
In June I was looking for some new musical ideas and found myself playing with my midi. I also found a program that said it could create music. So with software and midi in hand I created a song then two. It was at about that point where I challenged myself to create an album in 30 days.
Not only did I complete that challenge way ahead of schedule I also managed to mix and master it and eventually create a video for each song on the album. Wow!
To make a long story short, everything fell into place so nicely that I decided to create some new accounts for my new sound which I appropriately called: Accidental Coincidence.

Things just took off from there!
In 3 days the debut album Stillborn Redefinition took the number 1 spot on the local ReverbNation charts. Three weeks later and Stillborn Redefinition also hit #18 Nationally and #50 Globally for the Electronica genre and took on nearly 1000 fans! Absolutely Amazing!!!
Not to shabby for a 30 day challenge.
Now I didn't have any long term plans for Accidental Coincidence (after all, it was just a side project) but demand for more has compelled me to craft another album.
So, in between GT practice sessions I composed some brand new material for a second Accidental Coincidence album. The new album will be called Supernatural Diagonal and as of right now there are 16 songs slated to be on it.
Right now the album is in the mixing/mastering stage. With a release date yet to be announced it looks like it will be ready by the end of the month, if all works out.
Not to worry though GT fans, I have been working on new material for GT throughout all of this. I have written at least 2 dozen lyrics. I have recorded at least as many riffs and I have started some preliminary composition work on some new songs. I even pre-released 4 preliminary mixes to the GT Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/GT4Me). These four songs were recorded just after the Into The Unknown album before I had any real idea how or where I would use them.
I also decided to clear out the GT closet so to speak, by rummaging through tracks that date back several years to present. I pulled some 30 unfinished songs from the archives and decided to finish them and mix them to get them off of my plate.
Now I don't think that any of these songs are good enough to be put on an album (as a matter of fact some of these old recordings were so terrible to start that I wasn't even sure that mixing would do them any justice) so I have been toying around with the idea of releasing them exclusively to the GT Music Amp App and let the listeners decide if any of the tracks would be good enough to place on an album. I just have to upload the tracks to the web and have the App designer create some sort of voting system for listeners to vote. I will let you know if and when any of this happens so you can participate.
Well, I guess that's all for now. I have a bathroom calling me to finish it.
Until next time,
Rock On!
