Music that spans beyond fad, genre, and gender H is for Hellgate is the blood and sweat of Jamie Henkensiefken. As the lead singer, guitarist and primary song-writer, she has become recognized by fans and peers to have a style complex enough to hold the interest of seasoned music aficionados, but accessible enough for the indie-pop ear.

H is for Hellgate's newest album, to be released in early 2007, was performed and recorded almost entirely by Jamie Henkensiefken. An adept multi-instrumentalist and producer, she built each song from the ground up in what she likes to call "mad composer mode" - a few glasses of wine and a series of late nights in her semi-pro home studio.

The album aims to capture the dichotomy of Jamie's musical tastes: from indie-pop songs to less structured, classically-influenced rock instrumentals.

Prior to moving to Seattle in late 2002, Jamie Henkensiefken fronted a few bands in Missoula, MT's rich DIY music scene. During her time there, she shared the stage with such bands as: Les Savy Fav, The Used, The Butchies, Erase Errata, Captured! by Robots, Tracy + the Plastics, Bitch and Animal
