This is really an enjoyable song. The first thing I pay attention to is the voice and this one is quite nice, it hat great energy though soft and easy to listen to. The melody is simple enough to catch but is not boring. The lyrics are also nice.

This is fat! Love this fat guitars and production. One of the real professionals here. This song is really driving and moving all things forward, no doubt these guys are aware of what they do. This provoked power is what one deserves, who likes this metal genre. Here you will get a fist right in your face! The only thing is, radio will be happy of the tune's length, I expect more. When you hear these guys it has a dose of NickleBack,Alice in Chains,Kid Rock,GodSmack,and It's simply the best I have heard in awhile for this Genre..pounding drums,and in your face melting riffs,these guys are def worth getting their E.P!!

An ode to keeping songwriting simple but powerful. Hollywood Assassyn is one of those bands from Canada that sounds American. Sure there are parallels that can be drawn to bands like Nickelback but also to bands like Shinedown that both share great success in the southern states. I mean really, Alberta, Canada mirrors Texas in so many ways, so it kind of makes sense. Simple Stupid has all the elements of an arena rock anthem. Killer riff to start, quick verse with a direct line to killer wide open chorus..wha solo and a climatic chorus to end the song. This is straight up meat and potatoes hard rock heaven that leaves you full and satisfied. It's beautifully executed with killer performances and mix. Makes my Hard Rock Heart Happy as Hell! Nice one boys!

Everything about this track is right on. Everything well balanced, composed, performed and the lyrics groove. I can imagine the visuals for this song without any effort. I want to hear more. Keep doing what you evidently love doing.

This band is by far the best heavy rock band I've heard on N1M. Everything is top notch. Song it's self, instrumental ability/playing of the band, lead vocals and production. Hope these guys tour and sell the amount of downloads and CD's something of this caliber deserves.

First, the sound. It's really Amazing. And when the vocals comes, I thought it was like Alice in Chains. Really good song. You want to listen more after this. When I saw this band was from Canada, I understand. Canada makes great music most of time. Don't hesitate, discover this band as soon as possible.

Overtones of a lot of different musical influences are conveyed in this musical composure mayhem that is very brave and uniquely orchestrated. They attack the genericise but do it in an original way. From what seems to be the run of the mill rock song reveals mysterious antidotes and silver linings of the promised nonconformity that is why anyone with soul, would listen to rock/metal in the first place. This song lingers in your mind and is the ultimate achievement for any writer/composer. Great.

This song is very well produced. Not really my cup of tea personally, but you can tell they are great musicians and are dedicated to their craft. It has that rock radio sound for sure. My opinion is that they should try to do something that helps them stand out just a little more. Other than that, solid track!

The song opens with a very distinct rhythm, which for me serves as the hook of the song. I particularly liked the harmony vocals during the verses: It's something that you don't commonly hear in music anymore, especially in the metal world. The chorus was also quite interesting, going into a half time feel for the song and providing a hook that is both catchy and singalongable to. The only problem that i had was with the lead guitar... it seemed like the lead guitar parts fell into very safe areas for metal these days. Also, I was not impressed with the lead tone during the solo... it felt like it was missing something, even with the wah pedal going on in it. All and all, a good song, and likely to be hit worthy material. It will be interesting to see where this band goes in the future.

"Simple Stupid", by Hollywood Assassyn, is a very straight-foward song, that has a real "radio song" vibe. The guitar riffs are simple, but do their job. The vocal lines reminded me of some 90's/00's bands, like Audioslave and Alice in Chains, and the chorus is quite catchy. The guitar solo is in the right measure, not too long nor too short, and is also melodic in the same extent. Overall, is a very good song, "simple", as the title says, but nail on.
