It only establishes a ground for you to judge yourself and envelop in guilt if it's not working out how you wanted. Change takes time and if you truly want to change something about yourself, you are most likely going to have to work on it for a long time, and continuously. Just make a plan and do your best to stick to it and try to not get stuck when unforeseen obstacles are thrown into your path.
