Call for public opinion
Hi everyone, I hope you all had a good Chrissy and a great start to 2017. I had a fairly quiet festive season at home, although December was a busy month for the band. For those of you unaware, on top of my Soloist act I also perform in the band InTriCateD. Kaz is the other vocalist in InTriCateD and the two of us also appear on Moscato's latest EP, Adrift. I was hired to lay the Lead Guitar track and some Rhythm and Kaz did the Keys, Sax, Cello and Backing Vocals where they appear on the six tracks. She also did the lead Vocals on Devil Woman and Mamma Blues. Check out Moscato on Numberonemusic.com to have a listen to what we did with Moscato in mid 2016.
All the tracks that I have on my page were recorded at home using my Tascam 2488 Digital portable studio. The biggest file that I have to date is the Demo for my cover of Trent Reznor's song, Hurt. It was also the last song to be recorded by Johnny Cash before his passing. I had a good friend in the industry whi suggested I cover it. After hearing my interpretation he suggested I release it. So I recorded the demo that is one here and started to file for a Mechanical License through APRA for the rights to record and sell it. I had not long completed my application when I heard the theme song for the 2017 Wolverine movie comming out this year. It was Hurt, like I'd never imagined it. So I decided that I would wait a few years as I didn't want to release just another version, nor did I want it to be compared with the other, they are of different genres. I've recieved a lot of feedback from family, friends and local fans who are dissapointed as they were looking forward to hearing a professional recording with all the trimmings that a studio has to offer.
So I suppose I'm using this opportunity, writing my very first newsletter, to ask what your thoughts are. Should I go ahead as planned? Or wait a few years? I'm keen to find out what the people who really matter think. The ones who showed enough interest to subscribe to my mailing list, that's right, YOU
