I play this song!

I have played this song for decades! There are different interpretations of this song. It's interesting to hear a woman singing this song which is more appropriate since it is the traditional New Orleans lament of a girl sold into prostitution because of poverty. I hear a very personal interpretation here however with a lot of emotion especially the part after revealing that the father is a gambler. Good record quality for a live performance. It would be good to use recording software to increase the volume with a digital gain change. I hear a very expressive voice wanting to come through! Band performance is great and I think will improve with time.

Guys, seriously, what's the point of asking for a review of a cover? You haven't done it in some innovative way and the quality isn't enough good even to decide about your skills... It sounds OK but I seriosly can't find a reason for reviewing it.

sorry poor song choice purely mixed.

Hey you guys can play and sing well enough, why d'ya choose an super overplayed hackneyed old tune to show yourself off ?!? And then it's not even a clear recording, Also the singer's a bit too pitchy at times. I CAN TELL YOU ARE BETTER THAN THIS !!! PLEASE GO DO ANOTHER TUNE

House of the Rising Sun

This has always been one of my favorites and I am sorry to say that I don't feel that it has here been done justice.. It is okay and doesn't sound like cats yowling or anything like that; but it is far from being great.. Plus the sound quality (fidelity) leaves a lot to be desired.. Sounded muddy to me..

Review

I have always loved this song and the singer has a cool raspy voice and a smooth vibe. The live recording makes it a little hard to listen to as the sound quality is not very good, but with better production, mix and sound quality I would imagine it would be a really good cover of an old favorite. Best wishes and luck for future success!

Great Cover

Great Cover, Great song, but bad record. I know it´s a alive recorded but, needed more punch in the bass...and more feeling´s in the vocal´s...sometimes she´s lost the pitch, but everyone do that. She´s a great singer...just needed a production. But I have to say, good job...

music review

Sounds like my Drunk aunt at a party,However I very much enjoyed it, it brought back memories for me.Eric Burdon of the Animals,Sang this song, and in my opinion, he ended any hope of anyone else attempting it.I will say however to be fair, this Gal can sing,I do like Her voice, but it could be used in better choices of songs. The Bands a drunken rabble very much where I used to be myself."So welcome home me.Im sure you guys could do a lot better and im not going to knock you for this. The Musicians are very good, what i can hear.A little volume board control here, and it would make a big difference.Good luck Guys.

House of the Rising Sun

Really terrible quality. Live recordings need the right equipment to capture the quality and a really experienced sound engineer. The performance, despite the sound quality, was OK. That song is a classic.

house of the rising

First things first, the recording is not that clear, I know its live. The live music sounds great but it difficult trying to listen to the vocalist. There was lots of noise in the background which almost drowns out everything.

Review of "House of the Rising Sun Live" by Magdalene's Revival

It's a very difficult thing to play a cover of a song, especially with such a well known song. Even more difficult to review, as the tendency is always to look over the shoulder back to the original. What can I say? Nothing really more than what's already been said. An original cover would have definitely had the edge, or better still, some original music from the 'House Is Out' would have been far better, so on this occasion 'the jury is out'.

House of the Rising Sun

Though this recording was done live, I still give you guys much respect. The rendition sounds very much like the original version of The Animals' song "House of the Rising Sun." I like more bands that are original, but cover bands rock too. Hopefully, I maybe able to do a show with you guys if you ever do a show in any bar in New York City. My stage name is Dynamite Daniel, and I love classic rock. I'll give you guys 4 stars.

oakey dokey then

Well, I'm sure you all have seen the present feedback that has been given. Unfortunately, I have to agree with most of this. This was a very poorly recorded track, first of all. Second of all, the cover of the song you all covered lacks overall originality. However, I did enjoy listening to the cover, the vocals were great and the guitar work was fantastic. Next time, I would like to hear ORIGINAL covers and/or original compositions House is Out. Good job.

I think you should have posted a actual studio recorded song, instead of the live show. the backgound is way to noisy. if you are serious about doing music, you should do it right. Talent is what drives people, especially the people who come from poor neighborhoods. appreciate your talent, practice, and record in the studio!!

???

Not sure what you are wanting to hear...really average cover...vocals are alright but very one dimensional...she didn't even attempt to go anywhere that the original hadn't already done...no creativity...not what I would be interested in reviewing other than I get credit for listening...if you have some original by all means submit it...you probably would do it well...

Figure our how to record

Sounds like it was recorded a the back of a bar with a cell phone. You can hear people playing pool in the background and some lady saying "Are you ok?" You do know that mixing consoles have a master out for recording right?

Review of "House of the Rising Sun Live"

Yea I'm not with this. Its impossible to compare this to the original because its no were as good. It sounds like your doing karoke. That just turned me off completely to this. I have all respect for covers, I've been in a Jimi Hendrix cover band. But this wasn't good.
