About Ian K Brown

Ian K Brown is a Northumberland (England) based singer/songwriter guitarist currently resuming solo gigs having played regularly with Newcastle’s Tenth Avenue Band at festivals in England, Ireland and Germany until the summer of 2012.

He has two albums of songs, ‘Dancing with Shadows’ – produced by Rick Kemp (Steeleye Span’s Bass man) in 2001 and ‘Rough Around the Edges’ – 2008. They can probably be described as being in the contemporary folk genre.

Amongst other gigs this summer (2014) He has played at the Maddy Prior’s Stepping Stones festival, Music on the Marr, Woolfest in the Lake District, the Haydon Bridge Festival, the Prudhoe arts festival, Redefest , the Alnwick International Music Festival, the Corbridge Festival , Broadstairs Folk Week, Baafest and the Allen Valleys Folk Festival.

At several of these festivals he has also compered on many occasions, delivered some very successful ukulele workshops involving a lot of people, young and old, and also headed ukulele performances with those who have participated in the workshops.
