iLLa Jay is a hip hop artist & poet from Sacramento Ca. Unlike a lot of fellow female rappers she does not use sexually explicit lyrics in her music. iLLa Jay specializes in story telling relying on heavy punch lines and metaphors to paint vivid pictures for her listeners. The self pre claimed "Queen of the trenches" often writes about making it out of poverty. In the summer of 2018 iLLa Jay started the #CEASEFIRE movement and released a video to protest against gun violence. The video features many Sacramento teens who lost their lives to some act of violence. She is definitely a force to be reckoned with and name to look out for.
