In All Honesty
I listened to the music and I can't say that I was captivated by the sound, But I would also have to say that I am not huge fan of goth, so I really don't think that I have the right to judge. Now someone into this type of music may strongly disagree, so my advice to the reader would be to listen and critique for yourself.

Interesting concept, has most of the pieces to amount to something, but anytime I hear music without vocals it sounds like half of a song. But instrumentally the drums a pretty weak, to far in the back ground, I guess the mix is not great. But like I said the concept is not bad. If you work on the mix strengthen the drums and bring in some vocals you'll have something.

Review by DJ Michael Angello of 'AfterMidnight' by Irkalla
I am completely out of my genre here so i feel i can't subjectively give a professional review. However, i can give my input, quality of sound is nice considering i am listening to an MP3 rather than a WAV, some people argue you cant tell an MP3 from a WAV, i disagree ;-) Loved the Bass changes throughout the track, the lead in my humble opinion went on without much change throughout, you could have a lot of fun adding a harmonic response to that lead with either a synth or another guitar. I like to hear lots of changes in a piece of music, it keeps me interested. Again, that is a personal thing with me. I actually always wanted to collaborate on either a rock track or similar vibe to your track, maybe i will find time one day. I cant fault the sound, i cant fault the musical ability and i cant fault real talent, i believe you have the latter in abundance. I will suggest you look at your creativity and content. To stand away from the crowd is probably the best way to get noticed ;-)

your sound
It is the first time I listen to your music and I do really love it. It is very interesting to discover other bands from the world who play instrumental. It is also a real pleasure to listen to it, quite good work. hope to hear from you soon.

Irkalla; Aftermidnight
IRKALLA; I like the name of your Band; Babylonian Mythology after death world without punishment, cool idea. Lets start with your song; Name: When you choose a name for a song it should reflect the spirit of the musical idea, and certainly will affect the first reaction to your song, in this song I would like a darker meaning name; Doom Bells, Dark Portal, etc. The Sound: After a first listening I changed my EQ (every day 3 Band EQ) like this: LOWS +2 dB, MIDS -5 dB, HIGHS -3 dB, that way I was able to listen better you mix, try that and figure out the way you like the best. The Music: Not a bad song, intention is there but really needs an intro and must important need brakes, (SILENCE IS GOLD) as a listener you need to figure out the parts; Intro, Verse, Chorus and in between Bridge, Pre-Chorus.... The lead guitar is too much monotonic ringing and the mandolin picking technique is a little too much and not helping, try other techniques even feedback will help here. There are no Bad Songs only bad Producers and in Music there is always a chance of Re-Mix, Find a good producer and try again your song will shine with a good Mix and Music structure. The incredible part of the Music is that you will never know what song is going to be a good song in the must important part of Music; Your listeners and Fans. Please keep up with your Music. Animo Muchachos! =D

A not quite succesfull song
The song is not too original at all. The guitar melody is a little bit repetitive, intrusive, not so incisive. The rhythmic section does it's work, but the bass needs a little more presence. Mixing & mastering are not too good, the song sounds cold and closed. Definitively, a not quite succesfull work.

An extremely dramatic piece with well thought out tension and interlplay between the members of the band. This is a case were the team work in the arrangement shows control and dynamics. Keep up the good work. This would great in the right scene in the right movie or at a concert with great lights. Cheers M.
