In My Dreams (Dark Melodic Version)

Gothic Metal

Song Reviews

like it

I like this song. Very "queen of the damned" mixed with a touch of rammstein. I think the drum mix is the best part, very clear and crisp production.

Got mood! This work does things for sure!

Helpful

I like the guitar tone to this, it has a deep thrashy sound with good sustain and low end in it. I'd like the drum to be a bit louder in the mix, I like to feel the THUD of the bass drum. The vocals could use more volume and also some reverb - I like to do HUGE reverb with days of echo on the vocal track. The tempo is not fast enough for speed metal, its closer to stoner metal, has a slower vibe thats great to get into. Nice work! should be in a film soundtrack!

There Is A Dark Side

Helpful

I've listened through the track a few times and I can hear the dark side of the overall song. However, I am lost on where the melodic part is. Maybe a 2nd guitar part or some background voices thrown in can spice the melodic and possibly make the dark even darker. Overall, I gave it the 3 out 5 because there is something there but, it still feels like it could be slightly darker and more melodic. Would like to hear any other version you have.

The Black Sabbath of Metal

Helpful

Has a great intro, very eerie bass and minimalist drums, powerfully intense rhythm guitar, somber vocals. Very well written, played and produced. Though this song is basically two chords, the flavors and colors that interweave those two chords inform the ear to different moods. I really liked this song, and will listen to their other material.
