Iron Bone Band's "The Yea Wee Song"

Upon your very first listen to the terrific Iron Bone Band's "The Yea Wee Song", you cannot help but to be deeply impressed by the high quality musicianship, inspired songwriting and exceptional production values. While the Iron Bone Band's musical influences are quite evident, they have undoubtedly achieved a sound that is uniquely his own. Highly recommended, looking forward to hearing more from this great artist!

Only my opinion

This is just my opinion and you don't have to take this seriously, but the production is bad, I don't know how you recorded the song, but you should find a professional person to do the production for you because the mix of the instruments was done in a hurry, the drums are heard too much and there are too many transitions, the song looks there is no main concept or theme, the accompanying guitars are not heard clearly with the solo guitar, it is not important to throw out as many tones as possible per second, but that it has some meaning. In the end, my opinion is that you have to work a lot on recording and production. I know you won't like my review but that's it.

Solid and heavy

This is solid heavy metal. Leaning toward prog metal. Full on loud, my general taste would be a little less loud but the intensity and drive does grab you. Maybe a bit more structure, have different sections that are more defined.

Sound track for a ghost train?

The song starts bumpy somehow, it took me nearly a minute to recognize the rhythm pattern, and then of course I've been waiting for a message or at least a statement, but there was nothing bot howling and squirting guitars all the way through. Well, this one could serve as a sound track for a ghost train ride or for a series of nightmares, but to be honest, I usually do not listen to this kind of music then if it just scares me. At least not voluntarily. Of course the guitars are played with a lot of energy and good craftsmanship as well. I bet that more or less ALL metal guitarists are playing much better than me, but then again sometimes I think it's a pity that they don't use their skills for something more meaningful. So I guess I'll keep on doing my simple stuff and wish you lots of fun with yours.

Yea Wee song review

Have I been away from the rock scene this long or am I missing something here? Being a musician/songwriter/producer for many years, I have a pretty keen ear for songs that have substance and appeal. This particular cut that you've sent in is falling way short of this. To start, the drummer isn't staying in time with the rest of the instruments, which is very critical to the listener. As far as the guitars, all the flashy licks don't mean much is that's all you got. A song needs structure and a direction and I'm not hearing it in this. I'd suggest listening to a whole lot of classic rock & metal to see where they get their substance and form. Sorry, this isn't a raving review but you need to go back and work harder at creating songs that the listener can enjoy.
