After 10 years of writing songs and producing music of her own, Ivana aka Ivy P has become an inspiration to her local fans. Not yet does she have the success she deserves to have but with the amount of work that she puts into her music, success is calling for her. 10 years she has been focusing on bettering herself as an individual and her craft in music and because of her focus, she has potentially reached that goal of being the person they will call on to work on their next album, or their next film project, or even that next video game.

Ivana was born and raised in Newark, NJ. On January 23, 1989, she was blessed with the gift to make music that she was not yet aware of the day she was brought into this world of ours. At the age of 5, her mom would buy musical play toys for her and her brothers to play on, but out of the three children, Ivana showed more interest in those toys her mom would buy. There were times when Ivana had to become creative just to do what she loved doing, like taking a shoe box, wrap rubber bands around it to create a homemade guitar and stack books and pots together to build a drum set to bang on. Music was always in Ivana’s blood, but she never realized it until the death of her late grandmother, Dolores Scott, who is the reason Ivana make music today. “I use to walk up to my grandmother by her side and watch her play the piano. I would ask her what it was that she was doing and she would tell me making music. Of course at the age that I was at which I believe was either 7 or 8, I looked puzzled. I mean, she would have a pencil and staff paper and actually write out the musical notes on the staff and to me that was confusing so I would just go back and play with my brothers.” “Now of course that didn’t stop me from my curiosity of wondering how to play the piano so after she was done playing, I would jump on and play little basic songs like Jingle Bells or something. As a matter of fact, every chance I got to play on her keyboard, I took. I didn’t let that opportunity slip away."

So from one of her childhood memories, that tells people that music has always been present in her, she just never let it out. “I started actually teaching myself piano when I was like 15 years old. I was in high school taking up music because I played the violin and because of that, I took music theory classes. With those classes and the Yamaha keyboard my mom bought me for Christmas, I took it to my advantaged and practiced until I got better and I’m still practicing today.”

BMI affiliated Songwriter and Producer, Ivana Younge aka Ivy has been creating new tunes and still produce music today building her catalog and perfecting her career. “I believe time, work, consistence, will get you to where you need to be creatively. It took me 10 years to get my sound, sounding the way it does now.”
