Born Jamar Carlton Anthony Johnson on January 5, 1987 to Sandra Sewell And Carlton Johnson. Two Notable Community members from August Town in Kingston Jamaica. His Father One of The Most Respected Member of their Noble community and his Mother was once Dubbed The Mother Of August Town. An On The Ground Politician, Caretaker and Community Activist. Recognized throughout the country for her works in August Town and neighbouring communities. He attended August Town Christ The King Basic School then August Town Seventh Day Adventist Basic School. Then New Providence Primary School grades 1-6. He furthered his education at Wolmer's For Boys. Jamaica's 1st Institution. After completing the 9th grade in 2002 Jahmar migrated to Brooklyn NYC To live with his father who has been living in the States since the 1990s. Jahmar finished High School Grades 10-12 at Samuel J Tilden High School. Jahmar was easily recognized, accepted and loved in Brooklyn A place with a Large Caribbean Diaspora. He became well known & respected over a short time. Brooklyn New York is where he currently resides. He often travels to promote and produce his music. Writing, singing & music has always been His Life. With the intention of becoming a writer from a tender age Long before he professionally started making music at age 20. Also singing for hours out of each day from a tender age. Whether juss walking around singing, singing for someone, singing on the school choir, performing in School and Church Musical Plays and Skits, hanging around Musicians. Also his 4 Cousins & 2 Aunts were Singers on the August Town Seven Day Adventis Church Chior. Jahmar was a Innocent Child, admired and loved by many. Whether because of both parents reputation or simply being himself: Humble ,Ever Talented, Unique, Complex, Sincere, Receptive, Punctual, Cool, Calm and Collective with A Strong Aura and Mannerism ever since growing up in August Town, Kingston 7 Jamaica. A vital part of the Country's History. Known throughtout Jamaica as A Community made from Roots and Culture, Rastafarians, Sports, Art, Conciousness and Strong Spiritual Beliefs. The Home of Alexander Bedward, Pioneer Steely, Sizzla Kalonji, Kemar Flava Mcgregor, Etana The Strong One, Duane Stephenson, Jah Vinchi, Micheal & Diana Rutherford and other notable Jamaicans. From a tender age Jahmar had a passion for Concious and Lyrical music He also has a Big Passion for Pop and Soul music. Which he now Fuses with Reggae Music to create his own unique style. Jahmar Is Inspired by many Musicians. Bob Marley, Garnet Silk, Micheal Jackson, Celine Dion, Etana The Strong One, The Fray, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Savage Garden, Sizzla, Jimmy Cliff, Usher, Buju Banton, Beres Hammond, Gyptian and Jah Cure; who shared a relationship with one of Jahmar cousin, who lived with Jahmar. Jahmar also listens to positive Rap Music favorably Jay, Nas, Tupac, (expired link), DMX & Diddy. Before becoming true to his given Talent, just two years after he migrated to New York in 2002 unfortunately his Mother was murdered by a member of the Jamaican Defence Force. A tragedy unjust and puzzling to many Jamaicans & World officials. While living in Brooklyn New York, after losing his mother Jahmar became less focused. He dropped out of his High School's Talented Tenth Honor Roll Program. He was also the key midfielder of his High School Soccer Team. But after a while fell off the School's Soccer Team. Now less focused Jahmar started hanging out with his Ave A & E91st frens & family and started partying with his Aunty Sophia. Now he went from being A Honor Roll student to being Dubbed as "The one who controls the school" The Koolest Kid in School, The most popular, loved and recognized. After almost dropping out of High School after so much distraction he still completed High School. His father decided to move the family to Mt. Pocono Pennsylvania, where he attended North Hampton Community College. There he studied Journalism. But after only a few semesters, still distracted along with his brother Dane in 2007 they moved back to NYC. Then Jahmar would hang out in the studio with Flava Mcgregor when Flava was in town. After experiencing it all since a Youth in August Town: Life's ups and downs, sorrow, the good life, the hard life, girls, partying, fashion & honors. Jahmar got back on track with his life and decided to invest his time, his wrtting and life into his passion Music as his 2008 New Year's Resolution. Jahmar continued his Creative writing and started singing & recording his own songs. He later worked with Reggae Billboard Producer Jon Fx Crawford. He recorded some songs for Jahmar. Including Call Me Dub and Face Reality.... Jahmar continued making new Songs. While Living amongst his family & Aunty Jahmar continued nuturing his talent spending sleepless nights up writing & making songs becoming better as each day goes by. He later worked with Shadee Rqb. Recording the 1st version of Call Me on The Birthday Sex R&B Riddim. Along the way Jahmar worked with many Producers. The Latest of All Reggae Top Roots Producer Kemar Flava Mcgregor of NoDoubts Record. He has since Produced over 5 Tracks For Jahmar. The 1st to be released is his current Hit Single "Call Me" (expired link). Which is now in Rotation Worldwide in the Reggae Field. It has been accepted and successful so far receiving positive feedbacks from of thousands of Fans from around the World. Now In Rotation In Jamaica, (expired link), Europe, Africa and Others. Now that his name and Music is more established, each day Jahmar makes a step closer to becoming more Dominant In the Music industry. Receiving plays from the four corners of the Earth.
