Amalgamize this!

What do you get when you combine country with some nasty blues and you stir it up with a whole heaping helping of R&B vocals....Yeah buddy! This was some very good stuff, my friend. Did BB King jump in there with Lucille and start getting those serious rifts on the "git box"? Outstanding work there as well. Very nicely done on the vocals when you started hitting those good raspy notes on the chorus. So if ever there was a good amalgam of notes hitting the page and thus making the listener adjust his thinking, this is that time.

Strong Vocals and Melody

This track has great vocals and is very Commercial I could see this as a single or Film/Television Theme tune. The song writing is very good and I feel you have the talent to go far in the Music Business and look forward to hearing more of your songs in the near future and wish you well in your Promotions.

Thank you for sharing and I hope to hear more music from you in the near future. I think you will go very far. Your new fan, Sam Watson

Amazing!

A good full jazz/soul sound with vocals that rise and fall and sing with a lot of emotion. The guitar is amazing the way it intertwines with the vocals making a good marriage of soul sound. The song falls into a comfortable well known genre nothing really unique about the sound but it is fresh and solid. I really do like this track, good job!

We're Done

Absolutely remove the spoken part in the beginning. It makes it sound cheesy. When I listen to the song what jumps out to me is the need for background vocals. I think it would compliment the lead vocal. While I like the guitar solo between the first and second verses, I would suggest removing it if possible so you can keep the flow. The instrumentation definitely works. When you get to the bridge after the first chorus, If you can afford it, I would suggest a horn section supporting the chords. Sort of like an Al Green production. I think it would take the song out in a strong way. Good tune!

Beautiful!

What can I say about this piece? Everything is so well balanced, the voice is beautiful, the structure is so well achieved. Great music. If maybe, because of the style, but if maybe you wanna put this music maybe with a touch of "on vogue" music, maybe add little details, like an unsuspected effect on the voice or the guitar, but that would be only, only if your desire is to get to another market, to blink to it. For me, your song is perfect all around.

Very Good

Opening up, it reminds me of some of the earlier Hall and Oates (Sarah Smail era). It is a well written song. The vocalist sings with conviction and is very convincing and has the voice the song needs. Lyrics are there. Arrangement is there. But... to get to a "5" here's my thoughts: You got the song itself down, as usual. (I'm familiar with this artist/songwriter) I'll spend a lot of time on this not because it's bad but because it's very good and could be even better. Now I just got out of the studio tonight and am in heavy production mode so bear with me. I had a fantastic song that was seriously kicking my behind from the bare bones track to production and finally figured out mostly what it needed. So you got me at the right moment here. Notes - To take the song to the next level: (Production) This is all about production and not so much the underlying song: The song is almost there production wise, but there's two key things that are needed. And this might not make any sense except to a producer. 1. The leading guitar works well, but there is a missing middle something. The muted guitar on the verses works fine but then the clean guitar doing the rhythm doesn't quite grab it all on the pre and chorus. It's staccato playing may well work but it needs something that the organ or electric piano sound is just not quite getting all the way. This causes the listener to rely soley on the vocal to be able to tell the parts of the song apart. (verse to chorus etc.) And that organ sound I'll address in point no. 2. Maybe a clean steady rhythm guitar on half or quarter accents strummed freely. I'm not sure but I think you'll figure it out what I mean. Get the middle sound to fill it out. Now, with the electric piano thing not quite doing the trick that I mentioned: 2. On the pre chorus part there is a electric piano/organy type sound that fills in that background area. That is the spot where at first it fooled me into thinking it was going to be backing vocals - and it should be background vocals doing "oohs" or something On "Let's Say Goodbye" is where it starts) Background Vox leading into the next part would drive this song home all the way and have a great "Wow" effect. And finally, as a subnote of no. 2, harmonies on "It's Over Now" and that section would pull the song up an even greater notch. Try it. I bet it works and shines it like a jewel. There you have it. Good luck with it Jamie. And best to you as always!

Back to Basics (in a good way!)

"We're Done" is a soulful, simple song with awesome guitar! Vocals are exceptional but, again, simple.....not over-the-top. Parsons hits every note effortlessly. I could listen to him all day! Cool song!
