Born and bred in the heart of Cherry Brooks, Nova Scotia, Jamie Sparks has carved his path as up and becoming face of the music industry.
With roots deeply etched in soulful melodies and R&B rhythms – Jamie’s journey is as rich as harmonies he produces.
Music coursed through his veins and DNA. Raised in a family where melodies echoed through the halls, he found solace and passion in the art of sound. When he was merely ten, his destiny intertwined with music, taking a trajectory that would shape his life forever.
Despite his humble beginnings and challenges he faced along the way; Jamie’s perseverance has been the driving force behind his success. An autodidact in the realm of bass guitar, he taught himself to read and play music when he was thirteen.
Jamie’s professional journey is a testament to his dedication and talent. As a music producer and recording mix engineer, he has honed his craft to perfection. A true testimony is his nomination for the Juno Awards for R&B/ Soul Recording and winning eight times at East Coast Music Awards, recipient of Montreal’s Jazz Festival Award of Excellence presented by McGill University, received two awards for the category of African Nova Scotian Music Awards, and WBLK 97.3 FM Unsigned Hype International Artist of the Year nomination.
Jamie has shared the stage with Justin Bieber, Akon, Rihanna, Shaggy & 112.
It may appear Jamie had it all. But underneath the merry façade of the singer is the father who lost his son at the prime age of 22. His tragic murder was a taxing event of his life, and it took courage and a bucket load of perseverance to go about life.
His lowkey and introspective personality reflects in his music. Most of the compositions are neo-soul grooves, easy-listening, reflecting the depth of his tarnished soul.
He draws inspiration from legends like D’Angelo, Seal, Dr. Dre, and Michael Jackson.
