Against these, it can be easy to give up, to despair. But always remember, when we stand together, when we join our voices as one, nothing can stand against us. In music and in song, we are ONE. I hope this finds you well, amidst Covid outbreaks and police violence and an uncertain future! In moments such as these, we must treasure music, the histories it embodies, and the lessons it can teach us. Music reminds us that despite the twists and turns the melody and harmony and tempo (and life) may take, we will make it through to the end... for the beat goes on, and so too shall we. About Jason Gutekunst
Baritone Jason Alexander Gutekunst (b. 1976- ) is an American musician, singer, pianist, conductor, and composer. He began with flute at age ten, learnt basic piano, guitar, voice and composition at university, and specialized in chant performance at the University of Limerick in Ireland as a postgraduate. Thereafter Jason joined the Miami University Chorale while pursuing a second (expired link)., and performed repertoire from India, Haiti, Brazil, Russia, of American Gospel, as well as western classical traditions. Jason has had the fortune to work with many talented musicians and composers such as Katerina Livlijanic, Malcolm Bothwell, Ethan Sperry, Philip Carlsen, Steven Pane, A. R. Rahman, and Dave Brubeck.
