Jean Pherry Hilaire is unmistakably one of the most multi-talented artistes found anywhere in the world. Jean is passionate about making others comfortable and happy. So he willingly shares the many talents he has been blessed with and caps it off with a bright and ready smile. Born in the Republic of Haiti, Jean migrated to the United States with his family in 1995. As a young boy he discovered a natural talent for music and developed a love for the guitar. In the field of music Jean has performed live with many local and world famous bands and artistes such as Jazz band Reflex and Placid 6 and Reggae Bands Tropical Breeze and Yard Music. His travels as a musician has taken him to places like Jamaica and Tortola. He currently performs weekly as a singer/ guitarist at his own ‘gig’ at The Joint in Cape Harbor, Cape Coral SW Florida, where he features a variety of guest artistes. Trained at the Community College of Philadelphia in Art and Music Engineering and Sound, Jean owns a studio where he has produced tracks and albums for Rap artists New Messiah and Graffiti Dream, Konpa Music for Miss G and in the Reggae arena World Revolution,He Producing Juicy Milk Album,Pabloke Album & Video,Frank Lenny – Cilacy as well as others. He programs instruments, creates rhythm tracks, sequences and does live recordings. He is very experienced at working with a variety of music programs and is able to convert from one media to another. On many of his recordings he is credited with playing all instruments. Jean’s creativity has led him to script, direct, film, edit and even act in his own movies and music videos. His movies include the thriller Panic,Dark Dream, Cecilia,The Night Of the Half Moon, The Influence and others. As a career choice, music has definitely become the centre of Jean’s world, however he is also a natural in the kitchen and enjoys preparing and serving up delicious meals to family and friends. In 1995 this led him to choose a career in the culinary field working his way up from line cook to Head Chef. From Philadelphia to Springfield Pennsylvania and finally Cape Coral Florida Jean has earned a reputation as a culinary specialist. His latest creation – a sauce/marinade that he aptly calls My Mama’s Cooking- is a combination of natural herbs and ‘secret’ ingredients that has become a favorite among those who have been privileged to experience its special flavor. Jean Pherry Hilaire – the fine artiste. Displayed on the walls of his home and carefully leaning in corners of his garage are paintings in a variety of media - yet a special style, that remind one of world famous artistes whose names escape the mind at that moment. That is because they are painted by the yet to be discovered Jean Pherry Hilaire. As a concerned citizen Jean sees the arts as a way for young people to express and occupy themselves, particularly in this rough economic climate. This father of three talented children remembers that it was a way forward for him and would be only too happy to impart his skills and knowledge to youth in his community.
