The Journey of...

Great piece and really nice melody . Melancholy in a Floyd way . Could hear it with more room sound on some of the instruments to bring it together cohesively (in the same room). keep writing - and explore dynamics with the drum kit and vocal processing. its a British sound for sure ..

Jam to IT!

The feel of the song puts me back as if I were listening to something from the 60's. The production could have been cleaner. But the balance of all the parts is what kept it engaging for me. Would definitely jam to it again!

The Journey reviewed

Hey Modry, Nicely done!!! It's a quite interesting mixture of harmonies and melodies. What I most love is the feeling of desperation and hope at the same time which is perfectly matched to the different ups and downs of your song. Stay tuned! Tom

Modry's "The Journey of Phaios (Pt's 1 & 2)

Ok, lot's to say about this piece. The fact that it sounds like some early Genesis's in many ways is really pleasing to me because that's a vibe that is not covered much and I really liked the lyrics. I found no faults in the writing and the performance of the song. It was fun to listen to. On the down side the vocals needed to further up in the mix and some of the keyboards and strings down into the mix. Over all, the song a pleasing and interesting tune and easy to listen too!!! DU

The Journey was an enjoyable ride..

Interesting ideas and fresh sounding ditty. Enjoyed the vocals and the old world bbc news presenter type effects. Recommend you listen via headphones or speakers not the phones/tablet. Wish you all the best guys..keep up the great work...Munkib

THE JOURNEY OF THE PHAIOS

I really was attracted to the song from the first piano chord. I really like the way the song feels. It reminds me a little of “Putting on the Ritz” from the 80’s band TACO. Not so much the music, but the vocal style and the “telephone” effect on the vocal gives it that feeling for me. I like the song “Putting on the Ritz” and so when I heard the vocal, I immediately wanted to hear more. First off, I’m not sure what you’re going for here. Your tags for the song are “alternative, indie”, but could this song be “experimental”? The reason why I say that is that is I cannot find any sort of Chorus in these pieces. There was really nothing to make it “memorable”. No kind of “hook”. Maybe on purpose? Not sure, but I usually get songs in my head, but not this one. Technically, the music is good. I really like the sound of the piano. No sure what you used (piano type plug-in on a DAW or real?). I did however notice that the vocals were the weak part of the song. The idea of the “telephone” effect (in my opinion) is great for this piece. But at the same time it makes it hard to hear the words. You really have to listen hard for the lead vocal. I think that you can still have the effect you’re looking for and still make the lead vocal prominent. This is especially noticeable in “Part 2” (I’m assuming), or the part that is different than the first. I was understanding the lyrics until part 2, then I just gave up trying and listened. There are also times when the vocal goes just a little flat at the end of the line. That’s an easy fix with some of the vocal augmenting processers out there. Or, just sing it again. I do that, even with “melodyne”, I am a singer. I should be able to sing on key so I shy away from artificial correction of vocals. But if you’re fine with auto-tune, maybe look at the vocals here and auto-tune them. Not sure about the tempo of this song. I feel it could be just a little faster. It feels like its dragging. But again, just another singer/songwriters opinion. I like your style…it’s really good. The lyrics I could hear I thought were good. “They overlooked the real musicians, and everyone cheers for the DJ”. Wow, what a great line. You’re so right. Good luck with this piece.

Nice song good music. It really comes out as the song progresses. I really like what you do with your sound. Maybe one day you'll change your whole genre of music. Can you say rock genius? We should collaboratekeep up the good work.

Absolutely Amazing!

This song was sooo beautifully written. It took me to a place unlike any other. The nuances, the piano parts, the harmonies, the dramatic feel of the overall song was created perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed this song it was something so different to hear. This is the first time I have heard of this artist and am looking forward to hearing more of his music. When the song ended I thought it would still go on because I was that into it but it stopped. Cool ending though ... definitely worked for the song!

The Journey Of Phaios ( part 1 & 2)

I like this song it tells a story. It reminds me of somthing the Beatles would do. The vocals are rich, the instrumentation is brilliant. Give me more....!!! The lyrics are great. I just love this song.

Don't miss this Journey!

If you are looking for a fine musical score packed into 3 minutes, check out Modry's "The Journey of Phalos". The melody keeps you engaged while the musical arrangement brings in elements of the best in Cabaret, pseudo classical with an avant garde feel from the late 60's. I highly recommend this song to all listeners of N1M!

Part 2 cool

Definitely Different and original, part 1 is not really my style, I like part 2 a lot more.(second half of song) Have heard a few songs from modry and a obvious talent with original arrangements and song writing abilities. Look forward to more.

At the Cafe

I really like this piece. It gives me the feeling as if I'm in Europe somewhere - maybe sitting at a French cafe - relaxing and watching the world go by. Nice instrumentation and lyrics - very mellow song. This is one of those songs that you are listening to just before all hell breaks loose - if you're using it in an action film.

my head luvs this tune

great song totally held my interest from start to Finnish the arrangement has depth and colour by that i mean contrasting time signatures which allow the listener options whilst listening which in the present musical climate is a luxury if i could change anything i would bring the vocal forward in the mix great job 8 out of 10
