While still a student at the Conservatoire de musique in Montreal, Jérôme Langlois became a co-founder, first of LastingWeep /lasting-weep, then of “MANEIGE”/maneige, an elaborate, rock-fusion group of the ‘70s, that seduced a large public across Canada with its strong musical creativity. He continued his studies in music composition & analysis with André Prévost, harmony & counterpoint with Jacques Faubert and Massimo Rossi, piano with Mr & Mrs Sosa and Serge Gravel, and clarinet with Jean Laurendeau. Jérôme composed and arranged for a wide variety of highly popular, national and international film and television productions, while at the same time recording albums and composing. These compositions include many piano works, some clarinet solo pieces, piano and clarinet duos, a lyrical suite for voice and piano, and works for different ensembles. In 2008 and 2009 he was awarded grants from the CALQ (Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec) to compose two suites, for ten and eleven musicians respectively, including a collaboration with the poet-singer Raoul Duguay. Since 2012, Jerome has been working with the pianist Pamela Reimer, who helps him discover new inspirations for the technique and interpretation of his music. He is currently producing a series of concerts filmed in his studio, the first one presently available at (expired link).
