Jacqueline “JilaBee” Nicholson was born September 6, 1988 in Chicago, IL. She loves every genre of music but it grounded primarily in the Hip-Hop sector of music. JilaBee Da Female MC discovered her gift as an artist at the age of 10 and has been growing ever since. People saw her to be different because of her unique flow, energy, and her voice. JilaBee believes music heals and soothes the soul. Her aspiration is to share her God given gift to the world as a healing device to life. She started to pursue her career in 2001 as a local artist (formerly known as Jilabeux) in Chicago. Her conversion to Christian Rap started in 2009, the year she gave her life to God again.

Currently, JilaBee is working on her first gospel mixtape, entitled “Re-Dedication: Final Stage”. It is expected to be released July 2013. Re-Dedication: Final Stage has a mixture of styles that is intentional to express a “new thing”, diverse style, fresh taste, and encouragement to people across the world.

Recently, JilaBee was ranked as one of the top artists in Christian Rap on Number One Music and also Soundclick. People were surprised to hear a new sound combined with a mixture of genres. In the past, JilaBee has performed and many local venues in the Chicago area, including the African Festival of the Arts August 2008. She was honored with the privilege to be an opening act for a few Old School hip-hop artists ((expired link). Big Daddy Kane).

“Up & Down” is the first single produced by her in her home studio. The song describes a time in her life where she was beyond down and out, but now it is time to stop living in the past and move forward. The song aims to inspire those who can relate.
