Thanks for your support! New album "Long Way Home" is available!
Hello there!
Okay...so it's finally here! This project started in Athens, GA back in June 2012. A fun-loving guy named Micah Bennett heard a big nobody (yours truly, Jim Perkins) playing an outside gig at Blind Pig Tavern - West. We became fast friends. Because of Micah's faith-filled passion about my sound, we began building an album with scratch vocals on acoustic tracks at the 1093 Boulevard Studio (Thanks Jim Hawkins!). We started out with fresh versions of "Somebody Like You", "Let Me Be", and "Smile". As we breathed new life into those songs, I felt the creative juices flow again. As many of you may know, new melodies tend to strike me while I'm strumming random chords during my poor attempts at crowd interaction. I grab my phone and video these hopeful tunes to try to make sense of the chaos when I get home. That's how "Tapestry", "Long Way Home", and "Find My Way" came to be. I left a little surprise in my version of "Wonder Wall" for all of my Athens family and friends. Micah put together the most amazing group of Athens-based musicians to join me; it is an honor to be the least-talented guy on this album.
