Jim Threat & The Vultures are a Punk Rock and Roll band from Scotland formed in late 2013. The current line up formed out of the ashes of punk band The Threats and heavy rockers Mothertone, they started with the goal of taking the live music scene by the scruff of the neck and combining heavy rock and roll with a punk attitude. Described by others as fusion of Classic Motorhead meets the Damned, they have recently expanded to a four piece in an effort to increase the decibel levels to maximum. The first single 'Wargames' was released in 2014 on Intimidation records and quickly sold out. Earning a reputation as an intense new live act quickly led to the recording of their first EP. 'Afraid of the Dark' which is out now on Doctor Strange records. Louder Than War recently described Jim Threat & The Vultures as 'Edinburgh’s best kept secret'...A secret no longer! Punk rock music website Mass Movement stated 'The band powers through this four track EP – each song is well under the three minute mark and they keep things simple, focusing on writing catchy anthems. All the tracks are well written and benefit from a strong production making this a cracking release.' Razorcake magazine said of the bands recent EP 'A four-song sonic blast that clocks in at just under ten minutes, but will keep your ears ringing for a lot longer than that. It is hard to pick a favourite here, but trust me—this slab of wax is red hot.'
