About Joel Futterman/Ike Levin Creative Collective
The Joel Futterman/Ike Levin Creative Music Collective is dedicated to exploring new directions in the art of “in the moment” collectively composed and improvised music. They combine skilled musicianship with a celebration of improvisational conversations that take the listener on musical journeys spanning the emotions and musical genres. Their shared goal is artistic freedom and devotion to the unexpected as they stretch and push the boundaries of tonality, rhythm, and harmony. All compositions are created "in-the-moment" through deep listening and interaction. They are determined to contribute to redefining the genre of avant-garde jazz and improvisational music. The duo is often joined by leading international jazz innovators. This is a tight creative improvisational unit whose hearts and ears are open to each other, and who approach their music without any preconceptions. The collective has performed at jazz clubs and festivals across the link., Canada, and Europe.
