Song Reviews

Greatness

As soon as this song started, I became immediately interested in what I was listening to. Especially loved the rhythm throughout and the drums. Everything went well together and I also enjoyed the lyrics, which I what I think the world needs more of. Really enjoyed the song.. hope to hear more soon.

Blues Medley with a Gospel….

I love this song! Real life lyrics with a great beat, uncommon musicianship with a unique sound like a whole orchestra in heaven. Your sound reminds me of ELO but with this sound of Blues and Jam. Wasted lives, wasted on high living leads to wasted souls without Him in your heart. An epic song of heartbreak with lots of heart. Keep making music !

A Gospel ride home

This is not my first time reviewing these guys, They never seem to disappoint. Nice tight groove with all musicians performing well. No slackers here. Nice break in the middle with the sax. Love hearing the gospel in this format. Let's rock out. These guys deserve the listen!

A GOSPEL RIDE HOME... some reflections.

First, my humble apology for the slow response - just in the fast lane for a bit. The song starts out with ENERGY and that's got my attention from jump. The funky intro is just right for the song and gritty and to the point. The song has a funky bluesy live sound that is easy to imagine being right there watching the band kick it out. The lyrics are the story of a man down and out - and the guitar and sax/horns cry out in harmony with that theme - perfect! The music flows into a soft zone where the vocals turn to the Gospel message: Jesus died for our sins - died for me - and died for you! The band kicks it up and the singer laments his past sins and cries out as the music crescendos... The arrangement for this song is quite complex in many ways - not your usual gospel song - or blues/rock song for that matter. Lots of excellent musicianship shows in this song. It is a great story song of redemption for all to hear. I think some of the vocals could have been a little cleaner; and a lil organ in a few sections would have been sweet. Overall, this song is a beautiful and powerful message about Jesus changing a broken man's heart and life. Wonderful! I think this song would be awesome to see performed live Joe & Band.... Thanks for sharing with the world. fool4christ

Taking a Ride on the Great and Only Way

Well! This is the real thing, isn't it! Yes. Yes, it is. You can tell they've done this sort of thing before: the bass, percussion & drums forming a solid rhythm section, nice ride on the sax, authentic crunchy blues guitar tone. You can feel the blues, and they point us in the right general direction on the RIght Road. That is very valuable indeed!

Absolutely amazing song

I was really impressed and so surprised with this song. I've heard some of your other music but this song seems different. I thought this song had a really good sound and seemed well put together. I really enjoyed it.

Quite nice.

This is a great group of great musicians who, in my opinion, deserve huge success. It could be that all they need to ensure that it happens is an original song that they could call their own. If they want to get into Gospel, I may just have that song. Please check out Change My Ways and I'm Dead at The Prisoners' Songbook on Spotify and iTunes. If not up your street -no worries. Just a thought. You have the voice and the right sound. Best of luck.

Blues music is the soul laid bare

the emotions on edge, the cry of the human experience. It is a musical genre that transcends time and space, capable of deeply touching hearts and souls, regardless of the listener. The blues, with its melancholic melodies and lyrics often laced with sadness and pain, has this unique ability to make us feel a range of emotions. It can take us to the depths of melancholy, but also make us vibrate with joy when the slide guitar sings its lament. Blues legends, from Robert Johnson to BB King to Muddy Waters, have left an indelible mark on music history. Their personal stories, often marked by struggle and suffering, are reflected in their songs, creating a deep connection with those who listen to them. Blues is also an evolving genre, having given rise to other styles like rock 'n' roll, jazz and R&B. Its ability to merge with other musical genres makes it a pillar of American and global musical culture. When listening to the blues, one can feel a closeness to the very essence of the human condition, with all its complexities, ups and downs. It is music that consoles, that expresses the pain and beauty of life in an authentic way. The blues is a musical treasure, an experience to live and share.

rock

Blues Medley W/ A Gospel Ride Home

The intro does have that blues kick with just the right amount crunch in the guitar. The drums sound boxy which is fine with me. Lead guitar work runs with the best of them. Sax is a little thin but adds its part. Vocals have that blues requirement of trouble all round. The gospel part can't compare to the sinfully good blues intro but after a brief foray into the Jesus thing, the blues returns good and strong. Sax is better at the end.

Professional Quality Blues jam song

Straight forward, in your face, blues rock. Nice guitar / bass riff that holds the sold together. As far as Blues goes, this is awesome. I can hear a touch of "Cream" in the vocals and riffs. Eric Clapton inspired and also I hear some SRV in there. A strong sax solo adds character and class to the song overall. Nice strong vocal sound and presence. This is a good jam that takes a turn into a prayer, which is cool. This is roots inspired and I can hear several old Blues songs in here that this song is recalling. Nice work!!! Got to love the blues

Thanks guys for requesting a review. I always make it a point to mention that I love hearing fellow Christians using their talents to spread the word of God. Joe Miranda & the Kings of Texas are doing just that with some tasty blues. I liked the track. It flowed nicely and the production was pretty good. The vocals were good, but can use a little work. The sax solo was sweet and one of the highlights of the track. The rap about Jesus was also a nice touch. The Keep rocking for the Lord.
