Lessons Learned

One of the things I enjoy most about Number One Music artists is the newfound ability to hear music from around the world by singers who I'd never have the chance to listen to otherwise. That, in itself, is a great thing. Here, with this song we get another awesome rockin' song that delivers in all ways - musically, vocally, thematically, spiritually - you guys are amazing and I love your music! Why aren't you signed to a major label and touring stadiums?!

The song Lessons in Lowdown from Joe Miranda & The Kings Of Texas opens up like a good old rock number it introduces you to the world of rock`n roll like a crowd of birds come over the land and everybody is recognizing. It is a number with the good old rockin` beat, nice to listen and interesting in expression. The solos are clean and round, the singer has a clear speach. Solid rock song with all the bells and whistles. They recording is done well, it could maybe use a little clearer mastering. However the tracks are good and the mix overall is decent. Brass sounds great! Quite a bit of feeling and the musicians in the track can definitely jam. This track is worth a listen if you love rock and roll.

Lively horns, high energy rock!

Having played and listened to a lot of horn bands I am glad to hear this punchy mix with a full, true horn mix. Lots of energy in this tune- maybe bring horns down and build 2nd time on bridge for more dynamic. Drums seem a tad stiff on groove but getting the job done. Vocals have ful clean sound and guitar coming through nicely keys a bit buried but clearly a seasoned live band. Good job

I am ALWAYS a "sucker" for some good saxophone play on a song!

And this song does not disappoint with it's heavy influences of Rock and Blues to blend in with the saxophone through at all! This is a "no frills" kind of song - just a nice groove, where my head just moves to the drum beat - listening to the gritty goodness of the guitar - the saxophonist tearing it up on his sax solo, and YES... reminiscent of the Rolling Stones, and probably with other big name bands as well! THOROUGHLY enjoyed the saxophone! - then that sax solo goes into a great guitar solo which just flows along with the entire ambiance of this track/song, and pretty much until the end of this sing as well, as a build up to the end....NICE....! With this all being said, its a great song that more people should have the pleasure of hearing - Thankfully, this website & other websites help listeners & fans of music period, to enjoy music that may not be played on the regular air waves. Thank you Joe Miranda & The Kings of Texas.

Lessons!!

I truly wanted to hear from the professional sounds, professional players. Not disappointed. Now I know where to set the bar. Honestly I never listened to your sounds before. You have earned another fan. Thanks Magic

Fun times with raw riffs and rambling guitar, vocals and sax!

This track hits all the right buttons for me, and stands out amongst the rock tracks I've heard lately. A relaxed rhythm carries the rock from a simple melody up into the stratosphere as guitar and sax solos light up the night, wailing and wandering back to the core , where the drummer maintains the listener's focus.Rock on!

Lessons In Lowdown review. this song is a strictly Rock piece in the highest sense of the word. everything sounds in Rock style as I said everything recalls the Rock genre. personally it is not my favorite genre but I can give you a musical judgment that is certainly positive because all that there must be in a Rockl piece in your piece is therefore complimented and continues. good job

Rock and Roll

This is song is great and I love it! You can get up and dance and party until the morn. It makes you shake your everything and be tired the next day! Sounds like they are having so much fun and the performance is probably outstanding.

Keys flying licks ringing

Great beginning, great lead, decent lead vocal, band is kicking, groove is on ,still hearing great balls of Fire and stones influence, good sax lead of course ,driving it home with the band right in sync, good tone on the guitar but your bends need work ,not quite hitting the resolution, and a little uncertain, but the vibe is there. A lot going on great ending and the voice good be a little more upfront but on the whole very good.

Wazzat you telling me?

Joe and the Texan Kings are a highly professional group of seasoned musicians who would get any joint jumping. My only criticism is that I cannot hear what the singer is on about, which I feel certain is heartfelt and well worth saying. Dan Tobacco cannot sing for toffee but you can hear all the words (check him out on soundcloud). Who is to say what is best? Not me, but I can understand this band is made for concerts and halls rather than the recording studio. The guitar is outstanding but needs the band to emphasise its brilliance. Keep on boppin.'

Review of Lessons in Low Life

Great song that gets your attention from the start with the hair guitar working the beat until the vocals kick in and then follows along and grooves the blend driving the tune to a pitch frenzy. In the traditional rock sound with a driving guitar hitting all all the highs and lows and the drums not leaving anything lacking, a nice little tune to get the blood pumping and the body moving, if you are a rock fan don’t pass this tune by?
