The lyrics are great! Joe's voice is perfect for this genre of music and the message rings sincere, The mix is a little distracting for my taste. If you could have it processed and equalized so that the background vocals sound more connected to the lead and the strings don't dominate it would be smoother and more commercial sounding.Great job!!!

Joe has a pleasant voice that is perfect for this style of music. This is a nicely performed and produced praise and worship song. I could hear this being played in any contemporary or traditional worship setting.

Hi Joe My first review here. I think the song lyrics are very well written. The vocals are also very good. I think the mix is good as well. The only thing I would change is (I think) is the strings are a little distracting from the lyrics in a few places. Keep up the great work for the Lord. Very powerful, love the lyrics! 5 stars for the song and performance, but you were asking specificaly about the mix. The vocals have a tad too much reverb, and the level should be brought down maybe .5db for the first phrase, they start out a tad hot. The background vocals have to be brought up, especially during the chorus and at the end. You have excellent separation between parts, they all sit well in the mix so I wouldn't touch the eq in the mix at all but a little boost on the highs in the master might clean it up a bit, but just a tiny, tiny bit. Hope this helps, you have all of the hard work taken care of, just play with the levels a bit and you will have an excellent mix for an excellent song!

Falling squarely within the Praise-N-Worthy genre, "Risen Son" has an uplifting theme and easily remembered melody. Nicely recorded, should find a home in a lot of churches across the land.

Well off the top, i can tell you ,just the arrangement of the instruments caught my ear, they are nicely assembled and graceful. I had to listen really close to your vocals, i don't know alot about auto tune, but it seems to have a little of it on your vocals, which didn't work against your vocals, but rather give it a unique sound for this type of song. over all my friend, this is a really, really good track and i would recommend people to give it a listen. larry
