About John Alan Carmack

John Alan Carmack Born in December 1964. My first love of music came through singing in church and going through my sisiter's record collection at a very early age. Fast forward to Now! John Alan Carmack moved to Nashville back in 1991. Coming from living in Lexington, Ky where he was part of an all original band known as the Tu- Tall Strangers. The Tu- Tall Strangers was the first "real band " experience John had, as far as being an all original outfit with the sound of maybe Hootie and the Blowfish. Before Tu- Tall days..John was part of a 3 piece power trio, Renegade, out of London, Ky with band mate Jeff Mcfadden. They performed music by Humble Pie, Hendrix, Stones, Zeppelin, Cactus, Aerosmith and the list can go on. They also released a full length album and single in 1986. Local reaction was positive, but later after release Renegade disbanded and John moved to Lexington, Ky to pursue other musical interests.

Now in Nashville since 1991. John is again pursuing his music career after a long hiatus. John continues to write original material and continues to play local writer nights and showcases.

In early 2012, John re-connected with three high school friends to "put the band back together" for their 30th High School Reunion. So begins Yesterday's Wine. After a few rehearsals, the word got out around the LondonCorbin, KY area that this band had gotten together and offers to play started to come in even before the high school reunion. So, after the reunion, Yesterday's Wine has continued on and play shows in and around the LondonCorbin,KY area. They recently released a 5 song ep which is available for download on Yesterday's Wine Reverbnation Page.

John also has started a new project in the Nashville area. The Melody Dusters was formed in late 2013. John and his one time band mate from the Tu-Tall Stranger, Shayne Owens, got together to form this combo for the Music City. Along with Carl Shankle on bass guitar and Gerald Prevost on drums, the Melody Dusters mix an array of musical styles for a great show. Check out one of their appearances which will be posted from John Alan Carmack' s Reverbnation Page and Number One Music Page as well.

John Alan Carmack's favorite performing format is his intimate acoustic shows. John performs selected cover songs of his favorite artists and his original music which you can down load from his Reverbnation Page. Plans for recording new songs are in the works and scheduling for House Concerts, coffeehouse and acoustic venues are also being planned.. All scheduling will be posted here.

Please stay tuned and John hopes to see you at one of his shows. And always.....Thanks for Stopping By!!!!
