Here's a nice soft rock/jazzy song by John Anthony saucier entitled masquerade.this is a very nice soft rock /jazz number, nice intro and rhythm section kicking it into a very catchy hook that really sets up this song.wow it's sounds like Carlos santana playing the guitar.this song has a mix of steely dan, Michael McDonald and boss scagz very well written. The arrangement and production are well thought out, overall very nicely done. Good luck.

I will try to be as constructive here as possible, but there are some glaring issues here that beg to be pointed out. The opening Keyboard line would benefit greatly from a different sounding instrument. The one used is lacking in presence and fidelity and reminds one of the tone of the donkey kong game. The clean guitar line is done fine, and provides a nice layer for the song, but the vocal that comes in over it is again almost indiscernible in its presentation. From the mid point on in the song it becomes dominated by a poorly played guitar line that does not do any of the presentation justice, and in all fairness would benefit the song by being edited out. Bring the bass up to match the drums and clean up the vox and you will have a nice little tune here.

Hi John! The instruments are strong and well played! Your lyrics are strong, you kind of have a rough vocal which can work. I do love your lyrics. You could try to send this song out for movies and film or I can see it played live in a dance hall . I hope you are doing well and keep writing many songs! Nice easy listening tune. Nice melody, however vocals could use some tightening up. I love the electric guitar solo, it adds a nice touch to the song. Songwriting is ok, but could also use some polishing up as well. Nice catchy hook.

I know I have reviewed several of your songs you have and I have always found them very interesting in their structure and delivery. This one in particular has a nice enjoyable melody done on your vocals. The mix is definitely needing either a remix of redone in a studio to fully capture the song. It is a good song and I like it. I don't feel it fits in today's market though. There is such a overproduced cookie cutter format in what is being pushed on the popular artist today by their publishers, agents and labels that a good sounding song doesn't have a chance unless it is fitting into this type of format. Someday things will go back hopefully and songs that are simply that, good songs, may finally pop their heads back out onto the market. But I would suggest to continue to write. Good luck!

I'm not really sure how to classify this song. A masquerade, after all, has a lot of hidden elements that lurk in the shadows behind their masks. This tune is no different. Firstly, the guitar solo is ripping and certainly a highlight for me. The call and responses with the vocal in the last head are a nice touch as well. I love the vocal delivery and the singer reminds me of John Wetton in his King Crimson days. That might not be the best comparison, as it doesn't quite reflect the pop jazzy chord progression. I do like the changes and the melody, the whole song comes off a little unbalanced. I'm sure in a live setting, this song would benefit from a few traded solos. Nice work!

I'm usually not a fan of rock music, where usually loud hard tunes are played, Only I thought give it try and listening to hear if I perhaps can be pressed on to may like it and surprisingly I must say I was nicely surprised when started I consider this tune more like a middle or between country and pop , a very interesting tune a very easy tune to listening to, a nice production on the instruments, flows very smooth , also the voice alone is a lovely solvent voice A wonderful piece of music definitely a tune to add on your evening relaxing list to enjoy when sitting on the veranda with a glass of wine , well done

Nice tune on keyboard in the beginning. Good fender-guitar sound in the backing. The great guitar solo convinces me, including drums and bass-lines. The lyrics sounds like a story and make it engaging. Routined sung with great rock vocals making this ambitious arrangement complete. Overall nicely done recording and there´s obviously more where this one comes from. I´m sure you will also enjoy what you hear and like to add. Let others know your recommendation.

John Anthony Saucier Masquerade Ok so not the carpenters version of Masquerade which I do but anyway , John Anthony Saucier very easily identifys' his audience in his songs and these people were until recently very easy to reach. They are in the blues and country western bars and taverns. At the time of this review the world has gone into corona virus lock down and the rest of the world is catching up to financial compromised living conditions many entertainers experience for years. The governments should adjust to the times and make life a lot more affordable. When the cure is found the venues need to just hire something they know their audience will like as some of their would be audience might still be a little shy. Indeed not everyone will easily break through the possible masquerade that now requires a bit of skepticism and has been filled with nativity and confusion and continues with such qualities. Johns raspy vocals and lead guitar have their audience just waiting for the re opening of the venue. The venues really should not require the performers to try to drag along their friends the paranoia may last longer than the reality or maybe the masquerade is just the opposite.

Sounds like a easy listening song. Unfortunately the vocals have too much effects and sound unclear. I think it is recorded in a bad quality and then you tried to pop it up with effects. The guitar solo played ok and good, don't misunderstand, but for a pop song the guitar solo is too long. Maybe try a new mix, the arrangement is not convincing. It is nice, yes, quite good. But no wow. Songwriting is ok.

John wrote and performed a very nice and easy listening song. Reminds me on '80 a bit but in a good way - like pop music for adults :-) His vocal is great and convincing and it makes it easy to trust him when he sings. All in all, great piece of work!
