About Young-Brother Music
The Original Young Brothers & (expired link) celebrate decades of original, folk-rock music by American singer-songwriters, producers and performers, James Mark Young, and his identical twin brother, John Hart Young MA collectively known as Young-Brother, Young-Brother Music, The Original Young Brothers, etc.. We create unique, lyrical & vocally powerful folk-rock & world influenced recording art. We use a non-minimalist approach to produce lush orchestrations and other exotic musical textures in our work. Our collaborators include: visionary California bard & composer, Jordan DeLaSierra, genius jazz guitarist, Peter Sprague, premier singer-songwriter / guitarist Jon Pousette-Dart, Nashville bassist & inventor Charlie Chadwick, superb multi-instrumentalist Dennis Caplinger, the renowned, fabulous guitarist, Craig Bartock -- key member of the legendary band HEART, highly acclaimed, might drummer / percussionist Kenny Aronoff, & superb keyboardist, arranger & sound engineer, Richard Del Maestro.

We have performed scores of concerts throughout southern California. In 1998, James was invited to perform his original composition "TIBET" by the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) at Dharamsala, India. Please check out this recording of traditional Balinese gamelan music from a live performance in the highlands of Bali at Brinkit banjar, Tabanan district, in 2005.
