About Jo'King
"Inspired by the sounds of gospel, R&B and Motown, Jo'King spreads the good news of Jesus Christ and how God's love changed his life. Growing up in Natchez, MS, I was always fascinated watching my mother play the guitar, and her sisters playing the piano, as they were joined by their two brothers creating great harmonies with their vocals. They were a very gifted family with strong gospel roots. I formed an A-Capella group in the 8th grade calling it "The Mustang 5", and competed in local talent shows. I Was the lead vocalist for a local group, in Natchez, called "The Soul Morticians" until joining the military in 1969, and was replaced by a 15 year old known to us as Alexander O'neal. In New Orleans, I sung in my church choir until 1978, when a friend and I organized a group called "Mark IV". The name was later changed to "De'Sire, performing the sounds of Motown. Our first single was released in 1981 entitled, "I Don't Care", and "Feed on The Groove". . In 1988 thru 1991 , I organized a show group with two of my brothers and a female vocalist and were called "Below Zero". 1993 thru 1995, I joined a vocal group called "3 Smooth", and recorded a Cassette single entitled "Jump On It". Nov. 2001 - Present - I joined Shades Of Praise-New Orleans Interracial Gospel Group. In 2012, I decided to record and release music that I had been working on. Since that time I have released two CD's (I'm Amazed (How Much Jesus Loves Me) and (Glory Honor & Power).
