It is what it is
It is what it is!!! And I mean that in a good way. It's very easy to mess things up, in a song like this, it's meant to be pretty straight forward. The artist reminds me of Rob Thomas, so keep going my friend, you have a nice tune here. Try to get it out there and see where it gets you just as it is, any additional arrangements could kill the essence of the song, so bare that in mind. God Bless

I can't lie
I don't listen to much country... I grew up on it but honestly this is a very well written song very good listen. I would jam it and have a brew for sure. It's a tail gate kinda song about something we all know about. That's the beauty of music. No matter the style. I can see this being played in. Dance haul or drive done the road.

Already heard somewhere -but good enough !!
A dark, serious mood providing a good backdrop for a 'FM rock' melody.. the song is immediately catchy and also well-written and well-recorded. The guitar gimmicks are a plus -all along the track, the backing voices are excellent.. The lead vocal, with its dark tones and dedicated lyrics, sounds as good as the one from 'famous' singers, and this is an asset ; what I also like is the fact that the bridge is strong enough to be a chorus, but you find out it's only a bridge since the chorus comes a few seconds later !! Perhaps adding different styles/instruments for the chorus (or the bridge) might highlight it a bit more -it's always the chorus that people remember first ! So perhaps the strings (with their perfect sound) could be more up front.. But In my opinion, the only reak drawback in the song is probably the lack of original features : it sounds like a lot of other tunes of that kind, already heard somewhere, sometime (in the 90's or noughties, for instance). You can hear lots of influences in the backing and the vocalsBut who cares ? : it's a good number anyway, and the final verse (epilogue ?) rounds up a very good track in a very nice way ! well done.

Mainstream goodness!
I think this definitely should be in the radio stations if it's not yet? It's pitch perfect and it's actually really pretty. I'm not a big country person but if you get in front of Blake Shelton I'm sure he'd love you. I'm picky with my music so I'm always honest, but I love this song to bits.

Charmante Nelly
Bonne chance

90s sitcom theme song for sure
in my opinion id say that the chorus could have been an intro to a show in the 90's. as far as everything else goes, i couldn't quite take to it. there was no instrumental hook, verses were pretty standard and the pre chorus just stayed on one note. if i was at a bar and I've never heard this song before, couldn't remember any of the lyrics, how would i hum it to you? i couldn't. its not a bad song, but not bad never really gets us anywhere. not trying to be harsh, just giving an honest review, because higher up, people are mean when they review, and that helps make some of the best music. being nice leaves songs where they are and helps us be complacent

What can I say...?
This is a website for musicians and, as far as I am concerned, musicians should never critique other musicians. I know how personally I take my own songs - every lyric, every note, poured over - so can can I criticize others'? I can't, which is why I am writing a review of Johnny's Nelly's song (that sounds a bit wrong) - because, first and foremost, I like it. I never know what to call this genre (country rock, american soft rock) but if you like Train, you will like this. But like many songs of this ilk, it has the danger of falling into mediocrity save for one key ingredient - passion. This song is sung and played like Jonny means it and that makes all the difference. Should we thank Jonny for that, or Nelly?

"Nellie's Song" by Jonny Jackman
Upon the first listen to the song "Nellie's Song" by Jonny Jackman, I am reminded of some of the better country/folk/rock music to have come out of Nashville over the past couple of decades - yet Jackman definitely has a sound and a style that is certainly all his own. The musicianship/performance, songwriting, arranging and production are good - I will be looking forward to hearing more from him.

Kelly's song could be your song
I find the vocals and lyrics very refreshing and entertaining. The song has good production and sounds and is a true country rock song. The only part of the song that I felt was weak was the introduction. It's not bad but it slightly clashes with th vocals I might add a few notes off of the guitar just before the singer starts to smooth the transition

Nelly's Song
Hello, Let me start by saying that I review songs in terms of commercial viability.... can you pitch / place the song with an established artist? If reviewed from artistic standpoint (you as an artist) than it's either liked or it's not. The song has a nice melody / chords progress thru the sections and provides movement... it's recoded well with a balanced mix that is easy to listen to. Well Done! There are a couple of items If it were me that I might re-focus on.... The lyrical content has nice ideas, but I feel like there may be better ways which are more compact and illustrate your point of view more clearly. (Which is to say your own personal perspective). For example... in the second verse "And now thats its mutual, this feeling thats inside I know this love will never ever die" Might be tightened up like so "And now that it's mutual the feeling that's inside will never die" In my opinion....the word choice of "mutual" feels a little non-personal.... Rewriting is never fun but a necessary evil if you want to hone the craft of songwriting. Another point which is nit picking... You state "And now thats its mutual, this feeling thats inside I know this love will never ever die" in the second verse... but then in the "bridge" section you ask "Have you ever fallen in love?" It seems to me that question was asked and answered earlier in your lyric. One other point is that your sections are so nicely developed... that I feel a little cheated when your bridge re-states an earlier melody. If it were me, I might look for a way to set-off the the bridge section from the rest of the song musically..... All and all... a good piece of work,,,,, Hope this helps out on some level.......Keep Writing! RW

Falling in love with this song
A typical feature of modern country music are direct texts that often related to the behavior of your beloved. And this one is a great example! The wonderful played acoustic guitar carries this perfect composition recorded with many additional instruments. There is a real great drummer, who is playing powerful and brings the music on the point. Also a fantastic e-guitar, and a soft banjo in the backround brings some more interest into this lovesong. The singer has a unique dynamic voice and a strong vocal projection. The songtext comes from the heart and touches soul. I find it extremely good and the songwriter has a god given talent. Overall an awesome arrangement and very creative. This song must be a radio hit and it´s an original. Listen to the song and I´m sure, you will like to add it. Let others know your recommendation.

Nelly's Song
Great lyrics reflecting true sentiments of how it feels to fall in love. I love the song construction and how it flows so easily. Best love song I've heard in a long time. Calls to mind the greats like Dusty Springfield's "I Only Wanna Be With You." I hope you will keep going with your writing songs & creating music because the song is superior to what is on offer now in the charts. Excellent vibe through the whole song.

Great Song
Chords and especially the melody of the chorus are freakin' awesome. Reminds me of late 90s early 2000s songs. You have a knack for giving your lyrics really good rhythms. It makes this song memorable. I would listen to it on repeat. And if I were to suggest anything, it would be to raise the key a half step or maybe even a whole step. The verses were just a tad low for your voice (which sounds awesome, by the way), and I bet you have the range to handle the lift in the chorus.

Beautiful Song
Hi Jonny, Your song is really beautiful, although it is not the musical genre that I prefer. However the song is very catchy and it is also radio. I think of the first listening to a long car ride Very beautiful Bon Jovi sonority guitars. The sounds you used are really well defined. Great Mix of Instruments. Great Melody and Harmony of the Song and Song It's a song that brings you to rewrite it. In my opinion, you have great feedback among the audience. Very well. Bravo.

Took me back to the 90's
Good job guys. The lead guitar sounds really powerful. The melody reminds of 90's alternative. The lyrics were meaningful but i really wanted to feel them from the lead singer. Overall i enjoyed.
