Born in Waukegan, IL, Jon's parents migrated to Mobile, AL when he was a year old. He has literally been writing songs since childhood. His older brother of 10 years helped foster an early interest in R&B music via a steady diet of Ray Charles, Arthur Alexander, and similar artists. Jon began playing guitar at age eight and began listening to Bob Dylan, And Pete Seeger.

United States, Alabama, Mobile, Auditorium Drive, 36601The Jake Peavy Foundation and Outsiders Presents have announced the inaugural Outsiders Ball at the Mobile Civic Center in Mobile, Alabama on November 22. Phil Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band will perform that evening with special guests and the group will also appear the night prior at a private charity event hosted by Mobible-native, MLB free-agent pitcher and musician Jake Peavy.
“We can’t thank Phil enough for joining us for this special week in Mobile bringing our community together to raise funds for a very worthy cause.” said Peavy. “Having an original member of the Grateful Dead in my hometown, teaming up to give back––it’s just going to make for a very memorable couple of days and we can’t wait.”
Outsiders Presents will stage the first Outsiders Ball with Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band joined by Peavy, George Porter Jr., Ivan Neville, Jennifer Hartswick, Eric Krasno, Marcus King and Chris Spies. Tickets to the Outsiders Ball go on sale this Friday, October 27 at 10 a.m. CT via Ticketmaster.
Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band featuring Grahame Lesh, Ross James and Alex Koford will also perform at a private concert held in Mobile on November 21. The “ultra-exclusive” event will be closed-to-the-public at venue in downtown Mobile and will include a silent auction along with Lesh & The Family Band’s set. All proceeds from the private event will be donated to those affected by the recent hurricanes in Florida, Texas, Puerto Rico and Caribbean as well as victims of the Northern California wildfires. VIP tickets range from $500 to $750 and come with Outsiders Ball priority seating and access to a meet and greet with Lesh and Peavy.
