Joseph Paul Carruthers is a musician(guitars,keyboards,various instr.) and artist (oil, acrylics, conceptual paintings/works) residing in Nevada. He composes and performs his own works. His music is a fusion of many styles predominantly a mix of jazz-rock fusion, electronic, ethnic, ambient, and acoustic. Music without borders. " I am inspired by many different music styles. The blues, progressive rock, fusion, traditional to avant garde jazz, classical, ethnic, and many others." He states that he enjoys the works of Lightnin Hopkins, Shakti, Peter Green, Al Di Meola, Can, Larry Coryell, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Doc Watson, Paco de Lucia, Keith Jarrett, Art Tatum , Django Reinhardt, Beatles, King Crimson, Jim Hall, Tangerine Dream, Miles Davis, Michael Brook, Mal Waldron, Gentle Giant, Ornette Coleman, Miroslav Rostropovich, Big Sid Catlett, Steppenwolf, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Vangelis to name a few. Joseph composes, performs, and records his works at his studio in Nevada using guitars, keyboards,percussion, bass recorder, and other various instruments to achieve the desired effect for his compositions.
