About J-Province

Join me on a journey of discovery through my foggy tinted lenses. I am an entrepreneur trying to make it as a solo artist. I write, record and mix my own music. I also love graphic and brand design and endeavour to learn and play the acoustic guitar, make my own beats, master my own songs as well as to shoot and edit my own videos to become a ‘power house’ in the independent music industry.
To which my plans can then expand to opening the doors for others like myself who are trying to do all they can to make it. This is my life-long goal and I will do all I can to see it through to completion.

A brief His-tory:

Born in Trinidad in the 1980’s, I moved to the UK at the age of 10. This has given me an interesting perspective on life and its contrast, from the sun filled hills and valleys covered in nature, to the cold concrete jungles of London City. I now have children of my own and I seek to create a great life for them affording them many of the opportunities I did not have in life, to accomplish my dreams for them as much for myself.

I make music to share the ups and downs of my life and offer my fans a fresh understanding of what’s going inside of us and around us. Understanding our emotions and their impact on our lives. I began writing my first song at the age of 16 and fell in love with it immediately. Four years later, I recorded and performed it for the first time, whilst also recording my first studio album “State Matters.” Unfortunately this was not released due to copy write issues.
I then recorded several mixtape CD’s, "Grid Locked",  "The Scrapbook", "In the Dark" and "No Warning" as well as features on many tracks by other artists. I have recently recorded, engineered and mixed my latest studio album "MOMENTUM" released this year (2018).

​I aim to start a company that focuses on artist support for people like myself who does not have the backing and resources most art school students develop. This company will  provide assistance to independent artists who need a helping hand getting off the ground. I hope to encourage the growth of fresh, new music inspired by the classics and more, that capture the lives, loves and vibrancy of our times. Help me to open doors and create great music for the world over. For a better future for us and our children.
