About Juba J Skillz

Juba J Skillz is from the heart of the lively
streets of Diepkloof, Soweto. Born in 1984 at
Baragwanath Hospital, a place famously
known for giving birth to a number of big
stars.
Juba was 14 years old when he started
recording jingles for radio, his first
encounter was on Bondo Ntuli’s (aka Big
Black) slot on YFM which is where he gained
his street credibility and where he had no
doubts of his heart for music.

-Eyewitness, well known back in the day for
“busting cyphers’ in the dusty streets of
Soweto and ‘ripping mic’s’ in clubs that
hosted hip hop sessions, a duo that included
himself and his childhood friend Gimboss,
was what build Juba to be more confident
and more experienced.
The duo existed right into the end of his
matric year in 2002 and continued a few
years later until Eyewitness rebranded,
adding three more members and calling
themselves ‘985’,
-Why 985?
The name originates directly from the area
code of their hometown in Diepkloof. They
rose to fame in 2005 right into 2006 with
their smash hit ‘UTLWA’ which scored the
group their first recording deal with Gallo
Music Records. They released their first
debut album under Gallo called ‘Landline
Mixtape’. They later parted ways with Gallo
and went on to release their second album
called ‘Redial 985’ with the smash hit
‘SHAPA’ which also won the hearts of many fans...to cut a long story short,,,

-Achievements
In 2019, with the skills he acquired
from working in the entertainment
industry for over a decade as a
musician, songwriter, composer,
music publisher, an actor on ‘City
Ses’la’ a comedy sitcom on SABC 1
and ‘Sex Tips for Girls’ on Etv, an
event host, radio and TV presenter
Juba started a company Bossdave
Entertainment, which not only
builds ground and flexible space
for his business to grow.
Bossdave Entertainment also
allows Juba to grow as a business
man and presents him the
opportunity to give back to the
community that has not only
rooted for him but moulded and
supported his career throughout
the years as an artist.
His first community project was adopting a house for children born with cancer, CHOC
House in Soweto, Diepkloof Phase 3. He drove a campaign with his partners, which involved
encouraging individuals and business facilities to donate food parcels, clothing and toys to
the children at CHOC House. Much to his amazement, the campaign was a success and will
be hosted annually.
Bossdave will be driving more of these campaigns as they grow as a business.
Bozza Network (expired link), being the main music project that Juba and his team are currently
working on, will have 7 tracks from the original double album that is to be released after the
(expired link) project in June 2020.2023,His currently doing features on songs like "Uber-barz" by DotCom_RSA And "Umphando" by juba j skillz and Slang Banger namely Area-Kode,Its a duo of Amapiano sounds coming soon in 2023...
