junor Holt..Born Garth Holt..is the son of Reggae Legend John Holt and Yvonne Leslie. Junior grew up in the Maxfield ave area then moved to the country part of Westmoreland with his Grandma Leslie at age 7. He attended the Maud McCleod school in Westmoreland then came forward to Kingston at age ..13 where he went to the Tarrant Secondary. Junior started to sing at age 15 but not on a professional (expired link) was at the time he went to Spanish Town to live with his mom,he was then introduced to DJ Hammer mouth who took the unexperienced singer to sing on Dubplates and sound systems such as..City Rock,Strike Force,Turbo Crown,Impression Disco,and the big champion sound Killaman Jaro. The young Holt started to gain more confidence in the music so it was time to hit the road to Kingston. He came across producer Ski High from Tuff Gong who recorded three singles with the young (expired link) were released in 1988 and did well in Europe. He was working at the Epifany nite club in New kingston every thursday nite under the supervision of Bobsy (expired link) was doing opening acts for Tony Rebel,Mighty Diamonds and Dianna King. In the year 1993 he came across Youth Promotion Producer Lincoln(sugar)Minott who took 2 singles from the artist and released them in (expired link) that same year Junior came across DJ Skullman who who also recorded 2 singles with the young (expired link) 2 tunes did good on the local scene and earned the singer the privilege to perform on Border Clash 93 which was the singer first major show. In 1994 Junior Holt was introduced to Bob Marley's daughter Cedella from Tuff Gong by one of his bonafide ithren Anthony Saab. The singer was soon signed and started to work on tracks with musical wiz Handel (expired link) he started to link with Sanchez and gaining more popularity singing on the champion sound Sexilust which played every wednesday nite up at (expired link) was a place where you would find all the artist hanging out. In 1995 Junior migrated to the Usa where he was introduced to Sir Coxonne Dodd by Ansel Gridland from the (expired link) recorded 5 singles for the studio one label and by February 1996 "Still in love with you" was released in NYC and getting regular airplay. He then moved to Connecticut and met Richie Calbut and then recorded a few singles that was playing regular on the local radio stations. In 1997 Junior Holt and ace DJ Mellow entered the Appolo Theatre in Harlem NYC with the hit song "Sipping Champagne", they both came out a winner and the song was released in Hartford CT. Junior Holt then met up with King Benj-I,owner of Tronic One records,they immediately went into production on his new album called 'Good Vibes". Everyone who hears the album says its going to be a #1 seller.
