Born September 29, 1986 in Galveston TX, raised in SE Texas as the youngest of eight; five sisters and two brothers. R&B/Soul singer/songwriter Kalo Capella, born Caleb Edwards, got his name “Kalo” at an early age from his grandmother. He started out free-styling, battle rapping & recording himself on an eight-track player his brother got from a pawn shop and cassette tapes as his first taste of the Hip Hop culture. At the age of 17 he enlisted into the Army to serve as an administrative specialist and then as a military firefighter. It was this change that would change his life forever. While in his first enlistment as a military firefighter, Kalo Capella fell in love with R&B/Soul when a local barber would put him on the spot to sing in front of people in the shop. This helped him get over the stage fright he once had while singing that he never experienced as a rapper. His goal is to be able to promote a positive message and spark minds, both young and old, as a social activist, along with having people fall in love with old school R&B all over again. He has dedicated to give a percentage of his music sales to the Children’s Miracle Network as well as the Keep a Child Alive foundation on his Reverbnation website. He sings with every intention of becoming a household name and to someday be looked at as a role model in society.
