My Guitar is like an old friend that knows who I am; Written by a good friend of mine ... TOM THRASHER.
My Guitar is like an old friend that knows who I am. I remember the day I walked into the Oshawa Wilson and Lees music store and there she was calling out my name, she picked me, so I gently took her down from the rack, it was a Fender cut-a- way acoustic electric guitar and as soon as I played it ... I was in love. I walked up to the sales guy and said how much? He said $1,299. dollars, so I said thanks and put her gently back on the rack and the wheels started turning. If I traded in my Fender 12 string and my Vantage 6 string just maybe. So I rushed home packed up the two guitars and off I went back to the guitar shop. I walked in and said I will trade you these two guitars for that one on the rack and he said throw in $800. and you got a deal , it was done she was mine. I could hardly wait to get home, but I needed a good story to tell my wife how for one Fender guitar I traded two guitars and $800. Well it looked like I was going to be in the dog house but at least I had this beautiful guitar to help me through it . Ok I know you all want to know what she looked like, she's a blonde with inlay-ed herring bone, solid brass signature machine heads, along with an limited addition to boot ... Wow! I was happy. I pulled in the drive way and got ready for the debate but to my surprise my lady was just as excited about my purchase as I was. So all was good in my world . It's hard to remember how many songs her and I have written ... I know for sure a couple of hundred maybe more. She's been my constant companion for most of my life, and never ever let me down. She sits in a place of honor and is lovingly played every day by me and my grand son. I expect that one day he'll own her and she'll will write many songs with him as well.
