About Kathryn Holland
Kathryn Holland has never been
satisfied with the status quo.
She talks about her vision
of playing stadiums.
The usual standards
of success don’t apply.
A native of Abilene, TX (a small,
sleepy college town on your way
to West Texas), Kathryn found
her calling among her dad’s
old record collection and her
mom’s love of playing piano.
This singer-songwriter is a
multi-instrumentalist who
records and produces
her own records.
A lot of artists want you to
believe they’re flawless.
They’ve got the “I woke up
like this” thing going on.
Just hopped out of bed
with full makeup in a
picture perfect world.
That’s not Kathryn Holland.
Her vulnerability has connected
with audiences across the state
of Texas (she won first place in
the West Texas Songwriters Competition).
Kathryn has been smashing stereotypes
of what a singer-songwriter sounds like.
She’s inspired by artists such as
The Beatles, Hanson, Michael Jackson.
Her music includes influences of reggae,
rap, rock, electronic and funk music.
She almost exclusively records,
produces and mixes
the music herself.
Kathryn’s authenticity is a breath
of fresh air for music fans
that live in a pop world of
ghostwriters, teams of
producers, and all the
bells and whistles.
When you listen to “KH”,
you’re getting 100% KH.
Not music pushed by managers
or old record execs, or what’s
had the most marketing
dollars spent on it.
Her song topics switch up.
She has fun ones about boys
("I Don't Even Know Your Name").
Then there are ones about life purpose.
Urgent calls to action, such as
“Busy Living” and “Delusional.”
Dreamy guitars in "Delusional"
make you feel like you're
right on the Cali beach.
(She also has a song about
California - it’s called “California.”)
The ups and downs of relationships
are explored in songs like
“Wherever You Go” and
“Gotta Go My Own Way.”
Kathryn rocks with just vocals
and guitar when she’s not
playing with her band.
You can't stand in the room
where she's performing
and not be impacted by
her soul and passion.
Kathryn plans to release a lot
of new music throughout
2019 and go on tour.
