When You Say Nothing At All
Song Reviews
Katrina combines a beautiful voice with touching lyrics
Fantastic traditional country song with touching lyrics, clean guitar and keyboard arrangement, and beautiful voice. The production is clean and not overproduced like so many pop country songs. Reminds me of Reba or Dolly.

Emotional And Heartfelt Love Song
A beautiful plucked guitar sets the tone for this emotional love song from singer songwriter Katrina Webster. Musicians did a good job supporting the singer in this solid organic sounding recording. Some smooth harmonies fill in the last section of the song and it's quite nice. Katrina performs with conviction and passion. I would love to hear the record in a new light if it was brought up to radio by a great record producer who could recognize what is needed to elevate the vocal to the polished sound that radio would embrace. But even with this, Katrina brought this in nicely. I look forward to hearing more from this talented artist.

A REAL quality vocalist .......
What can I say Katrina .... you have quality, style, and above all real feeling for country in your voice. Your delivery is excellent and the choice of this song shows the true depth of your talent. Keep on singing songs like this it and we will be hearing more and more of ''KATRINA WEBSTER'' from Hamilton New Zealand. Thanks for sharing this with me and here's wishing you lots more success for your future. Kind regards, Johnny Ramone of Angel International Management

Better Than The Original
Fantastic guitar work and instrumentation. Crystal clear production. The harmonies are a great addition to the song and brings it all together well. The song was a "big hit" in the UK for an Irish Boy Band some time ago - but their version lacked soul. Your version has a little mote "TLC" and it shows in the time and attention taken in bringing about an admirable version of a well-known song. Great touch with the violin towards the end of the song too. I enjoy listening to carefully crafted, works of art. This is one of them. It's better than the original!

Katrina Webster review
I've been writing songs, singing them, and playing my guitar for over forty years. I teach people how to write a song. Where do I start with this one? My goodness. Your voice has potential. I would suggest a vocal coach. The lyrics, are one cliché after another. No hook lines that I can hear. I have the ability to pick million seller songs, before they even reach top ten on the charts. I have never been wrong. If you want this song to work, you will have to add many hook lines. And be descriptive. In other words, describe what you are talking about, don't just read it to me like a letter..Send me the lyrics, I can try to fix it. Your voice on the bottom end, is quite nice. Try to sound like yourself. In conclusion, rewrite the song, work on your voice. Good luck to you in the future. DON'T EVER GIVE UP, if this is your passion.

Plain and simple
Not the first cover version of this song if I remember well - this one's plain and simple without hardly any gimmicks or unnecessary add-ons, so the song can explore its naked beauty. Well done in this sense. I noticed that you didn't transpose the instrumental part but stayed in the main tune of the song, deviating from the original. I'm not sure whether this is the right thing to do; the song doesn't have many highlights then but just goes along for 4 and a half minutes. Maybe you should re-think this option. Your voice is clean and bright, with baybe a bit too much of vibrato in the beginning; it sounds a bit unsure in the first verse. And the guitar tones in the second verse sound a bit artificial to me. But these are just details...

A Good Effort
This one leaves me wanting just a little bit more from Katrina's voice. Just a little pitchy here and there Some stronger backing vocals would help this record too. The song is well written with a good rhyme structure. The story is told straight ahead with no unnecessary riddles to solve. I'm a fan of this style. The record is nicely recorded and sounds mastered. Good choice of instruments. I don't love the drum sound. Maybe a little less compression would help. All in all I like it and wish you luck in all you do......DW

When You...review
Katrina sings her country from the heart. To take on such a monster hit it takes guts. Keith Whitley the original artist was a hard act to follow but Katrina has done a nice take on an all time classic. I personally do like the male voice on this song but what a nice take without reinventing the wheel.

Very Good
Well sung and a very beautiful voice here. Very nice job on this. Having the background vocals in there where they should be was sweet. A lot of people forget about that part. The combination of that with the instrument tones and sounds blended well making the chorus come across very powerful. the mixture of instrument types and the fiddle sounds at the end were a nice touch. I like this version a lot! Very good job here!

WHEN YOU SAY NOTHING AT ALL - Review by Lora Stanley
Katrina, musically, I think you did a fantastic job on this rendition of Keith Whitley's WHEN YOU SAY NOTHING AT ALL. You have a strong vocals and I think you could make this better by more variation between a soft rasp in some parts and break into your stronger and fuller vocal in others to make it sound more feminine and vulnerable. I would also slow the tempo down when you get to the chorus so it seems less rushed, sliding gently over the ears and suspending the listener in time with their own reflections of love. Go for a softer version of this particular song even though you have greater vocals to pull off bigger songs. Great job!

through the dyne, the silence is deafening.
Katrina Weber brings us When you say nothing at all. A country ballad in the vein of old school Pam Tillis and perhaps a touch of Natalie Maines and Dixie Chicks. From a listener's standpoint the subtlety stands out as a classic slow dance moment in a reflection of the mind. From a producer's perspective I thought that the vocalist used vibrato a tad bit excessively in the front end of the song which made further usage a little less dramatically progressing to a culmination. The stereo imaging and dynamic range are well maintained in the mixing and mastering of the song.

An Excellent rendition.
Keith Whitley performed this song with a passion that allowed his listeners to feel the admiration the protagonist had for the woman he admired. There have been many versions of this classic country song, which can be heard being crooned from some stage somewhere almost every night. Ms. Webster certainly does this song justice. Much like Allison Krauss's version, Ms. Webster turns the tables as her performance focuses on a man as the object of the affection. While the lyrics of the song are non-gender specific, the soulful melody Ms. Webster provides, almost brings the listener back to feel the admiration for the person Paul Overstreet and Don Schlitz envisioned as they composed the lyrics of this endearing ballad. This in no matter of speaking is a slight against Ms. Webster--her rendition was excellent. The late Mr. Whitley, was a one of a kind talent who left the music world way too soon. Great Job!

country feel
nice acoustic guitar sound, has very far away country feel to it, i recognise the song from somewhere else, I'm not sure.... oh i know what it is now, well produced and a good clean sound, I'm not really convinced with the voice, but it is good enough for this type of music, the singing sounds flat in some places, chorused guitar solo , i don't like this sound,, sorry, but in general its ok , its not my kind of music , its a bit too sweet for me, but there is nothing wrong with that , i think it needs more work , especially the vocals but the backing track is good but nothing to blow you away, good luck with this i wish you all the very best
