About Kelsey L. Standingwater

Kelsey (Krazy Leigh) Standingwater born in Saskatoon, SK, Canada and raised on Thunderchild First Nation. Born to family with strong roots in culture, it was evident from an early age that he had taken a particular interest in his first nations ancestry and traditional ways of life hunting, fishing, and foraging were a regular custom in household, not only as a past time or interest but as a means of survival. Childhood years spent in the solitude of the reservation would prove too be much more different compared to a more fast paced "lifestyle" he would have to face in his later years to follow. Having turned his attention from a more quiet life to one that sprawled into a large category of fast money, violence, and crime, he had soon found himself in a world foreign to the one he knew before. Although life in general was proving too be difficult for him at that time he also found a new love and passion for music [rap/rock/hip hop] which he was able to express his thoughts and frustrations through. Eventually finding love, which then in turn gave him a sense of responsibility, being a parent at the young age of 17 meant he no longer had partner to look after but a child to provide for as well. Soon after graduating from highschool, ''giving up the life'' and persuing a trade in welding he is now an emerging artist, proud father of two, currently working on a self titled album "Blue tears & yellow skies" which is anticipated too be released for the summer of 2015. He now channels it into his energy on stage by sharing the negativity encountered and using it more towards a positive aspect with a strong message. "That no matter what you go through in life, it's never too late for a good change, towards personal growth and self respect, by taking yesterdays fast paced mistakes to correct todays flaws for a more promising and prosperous tomorrow"..
