About Kerri Powles

I am a self taught musician/Composer (since age 5) who composes all her own music using only a now very ancient (18 years old) Yamaha Keyboard, building my music track by track over time.
A large percentage of my music comes to me through dreams, and very often I have to get up at some unearthly hour to get them down before they go. There are of course pieces that I don't dream, and I consider myself hugely lucky that I live in such a beautiful part of the world as Wales, where the scenery and abundance of wildlife is a constant inspiration for much of these pieces.
Ironically I cannot read or write a note of music (notation form) preferring instead to let the music take me over on an emotional level, and not be bound by musical eticate. I leave it up to you to decide whether you consider my unorthodox approach to compostion works or not.
I have won numerous contests with my compositions, and many of my pieces have been used in local plays etc.
