A LOT has been happening in my world since moving to Charlotte NC!! I have been on quiet mode for a reason as I'm getting into acting and writing new music- etc. doors are opening I can't speak more on it. Keep me in your thoughts as the next few months coming are going to be a lot of hard work but interesting new waters !

Hello Everyone,
I have successfully moved to Charlotte NC area. I am now getting into the swing of things down here. It's warmer then I thought. I would like to give a personal thank you to my fans in the Rochester NY area your always with me and everyone else who found me on this site I am truly thankful. As promised I did upload my mom's work here Forever Be There. Such a stunning, kind, lovely women and I don't say that because she is my mother I say it as I wouldn't be who I am today because of her. Now, I am only in the background of this heartwarming song. Please enjoy as I have and still do- to work in the studio with mom was a joy to share one of our common ground loves- the art of music.

Hello Everyone,
There has been a lot going on in my world from me getting ready to move, my sister getting married, to a cousin being in the national news - killed in Florida, God rest soul and prayers to the family. Ive taken a step back and still writing new work- life can throw you quite a few fast curves balls -KEEP GOING as I am - BUT this new song will be a partial as I only worked on the background voice part for this song- My mother wrote this entire peice and my niece worked the background music with some wonderful help from Mr. Janson (voice coach). This song is living proof that you'll never know who will be working with you or who you'll help in the future -vice versa. The song is called Forever Be There..... be on the look out for it - my mom is an inspiration to me all my life. I've had the chance to see her perform as a lill girl to now and I'm glad to use this platform to introduce you to the women who raised me as the women i am and who you hear today.

Hello Everyone,
I wanted to share another of my deepest loves in music ...Opera. My Grandmother was a Jazz and Opera singer from Panama Ciudad de Colon. I was never told about her music life until I was about to walk the stage for graduation in high school. Looking back I understand why- I needed to find my own way to music, not to be lead in any direction but my own. I am glad that I found my way and have learned so much from her- with the little time I had with her. I pray she can hear me now from above. Thank you grandma. Also, a big thank you to all of you for your time stopping by to say hello and giving encouraging, uplifting words. It puts a smile on my face. Don't let anyone ever tell you - you cant do something because they cant see you doing what you were made for- Greatness!. I know you can!

To all of my wonderful fans. I wanted to keep you posted on my past music event. Unfortunately, I did not win the Artist of the Year but I'm proud to say that it is an experience I'll never forget. Met and networked and got a few more steps in the door of my journey. One must stay positive no matter what outcome as you still have air in you're lungs to do it. I encourage all of you to keep going .It was the following words spoken to me as a kid that i reflect upon today ... " Don't get to caught up in awards and miss your true goals" . I feel blessed and so happy that I not only got to represent myself on that stage but also everyone here on N1M. Thank you all for your support and there will be more to come. Here's a picture of me right before i went on to sing a jazz peice.

About Kimana
Hi I'm Kimana. I am no stranger to the stage, my earliest childhood recollection was singing in the local church. Let's go back a little. My grandmother on my dad's side is from the country of Panama. In her youth she traveled throughout South America singing Opera and Jazz. I was never told this, only to find out in my senior year of high school. My Grandma always wanted me to find my own way into the world of music. I did. My journey is twenty years in the making, but the roots go much deeper. I sing various styles, work with different musicians, engineers & conductors. I sing Opera, Jazz, and RnB ... I even took to Metal music, yeah that surprised me too.... I am excited for what the future holds.
