About KING CYRIS
I AM KING I was born December 16,1972 in a very small town called Palatka, Florida. My dad, Harold D. Bryant Sr, was a retired US Army veteran of 42 years. He ran his own business as a landfill contractor. My mother was a farmer and also a registered nurse. She owned and farmed about 75 acres. My mom and dad had two boys: me and my brother, Damon. I was the oldest by only 11 months.
As time passed, I grew fond of music, listening to greats like Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Prince and Micheal Jackson, just to name a few. They were very inspirational artists - then along came rap. I said to myself: “Wow! Now that’s what I want to do". My favorite music was by the Sugar Hill Gang, Run DMC, LL Cool J, Queen Latifa, Eric B, and Rakim and, last but not least, Too Live Crew out of Florida. They help mold me into the artist I am today. As a freshman at Palatka High School, I began writing songs, spitting lyrics untouched by most. I had about 10 beat boxing and rapping championships. One of the dopest songs I ever wrote was The Superstitions Of Cyris.
